Excerpt: This monitor replaced my aging NEC 2690. Without a doubt the PA272 is a great step forward. It is nice to see colors pop up on screen immediately once it is on. I'm sure my old monitor was never this responsive which is perhaps because it was not backlit with LEDs.

For what it is worth, I used my Datacolor software and Spyder4ELITE to calibrate the monitor. I also decided to purchase the NEC SpctraView ll software by itself since I have the Spyder.
Pros: Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance
Excerpt: Love this monitor! Coming from an old Apple 23" cinema display, this thing just kills it. I am using a late 2013 model Retina MBP and have had zero issues so far in the two weeks I have owned both. The included mini display port to display port cable works perfectly thusfar with the rMBP....plugs into one of the Thunderbolt ports on the rMBP. I have also used it with an older MacPro using the included DVI cable.
Excerpt: I had not purchased a new monitor for several years. Customer service/online/ everyone here at B & H helped me set up according to the specs and made it work every time. I was not doing something correctly so was initially having issues, but of course operator error.
Excerpt: This monitor was purchased for use in software development (iOS & Windows).

It came doubled boxed from B&H and was beautifully packed. Shipping was very quick (3 days) using the free shipping.

As a full time software developer I want quality hardware to be able to do my job with no downtime/issues. This NEC display has not disappointed. I have used many NEC displays in the past but they were all CRTs.
Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance
Excerpt: This is a followup to my earlier review where the Displayport port would not provide full 2560x1440 resolution. NEC shipped me a new unit and sent me a call tag for the DOA unit. The new one works perfectly. Yay!

Thanks to NEC for being so responsive.

Also, I found out that pretty much all countries except Russia are ok with digital manuals. That's why NEC includes a Russian manual in the box.
Excerpt: A Little Background
After suspecting the NEC LCD2690WUXi was on its way out (failed achieving target intensity during calibration) I phoned NEC tech support. I was pleasantly surprised that even though the unit was well past its warranty period, I got to talk with Aaron, a Level 2 Tech. Over the course of about 30 minutes we proceeded to run the monitor and the color sensor through a series of performance tests.
Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Nec Support, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
Excerpt: I use the NEC monitor for photography, specifically with Photoshop. It's a terrific monitor, a great replacement for my LaCie CRT monitor. Excellent picture characteristics. The monitor was easy to set up and calibrate with the included SpectraView II software and sensor. Also, I recommend buying the hood that goes with this 27" model. Inside is black plush that prevents stray light. Hood had an opening for the sensor when calibrating.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Excellent quality
Excerpt: Bought the NEC PA272W-BK-SV to replace my NEC LCD2690WUXI2 for photography. It will be used with my new Mac Pro for Photoshop and Lightroom duties.
Overall, it's a nice upgrade to the 2690. Larger screen, higher resolution, satin anti-glare, more ports and MUCH lower power usage. The LED backlight should also outlast the old CCFL backlight and maintain whitepoint more accurately for a longer period of time. Runs cooler, too.
Excerpt: I've had this monitor for over a week now and love it. I had an NEC LCD2690Wuxi prior to this, and that was a great monitor. The PA272W is definitely a step up. For me, the biggest change was the improved screen resolution. Going from 1920x1200 to 2560x1440 has been enjoying for viewing and editing photos. The newer screen, although still a matte finish, is a bit more glossy than the 2690 and further improves the viewing experience.
