Excellent, but due for replacement

Summary: Wanting a 30" monitor to replace two ageing 1600x1200 monitors with failing backlights, I initially chose the Dell U3011. This has lots of good points, but in my case at least, it had poor picture quality with obvious brightness and colour variations across the screen. I returned it, dug (very) deep into the piggy bank and went out on a limb with the NEC LCD3090WQXi.
Summary: I've had my 3090WQXi for nearly 2 years now and I can say in all honesty that it is the best piece of kit I've ever bought. I use it for trading and general purpose stuff. 'fabulous image and build quality. I recently decided to get a 2nd monitor and ordered the PA271WB - I wanted extra display space and I thought that a 2560 x 1440 with a slightly smaller footprint would do the job - but next to the 3090WQXi it looked quite pathetic (the image and build quality is not...
Summary: I knew I needed to get a new monitor to replace the previous Apple 30" LCD. The Apples have a lovely design finish and were one of the first 30" screens years ago. By today's standards they are not up to the standard of the professional colour editing displays such as Eizo and now also NEC. The main reason for this purchase was to get a display that could display a wider colour gamut than most other LCD displays.
