Summary: Don't buy it. This monitor is VERY expensive and it has a beautiful picture and many nice features, when it works right. However, there is some sort of fundamental flaw in the design of this monitor. When it fails, and it will, you will be able to turn the monitor on and it will work for a little while but then it will turn off and the green indicator on the front will change to yellow or amber and blink in a pattern. If you have no warranty you are out of luck.
Summary: Have four of NEC LCD 2190Uxp Black monitors. Love the quality of the display and the ability to turn the monitor and it automatically switches orientation. However I bashed the lower lefthand corner of one monitors on a desktop as I was carrying the monitor. Not too hard but it cracked the plastic casing (casing already repaired) and shifted the whole front bezel enough so it tore the switch conductor ribbon in two where it was taped to the metal body of the display (the...
Summary: I purchased two of these to go into a dual monitor setup. The image is unbelievable! Hands down, this is one of the highest image qualities I've ever seen from an LCD or any other monitor! The price is extremely high, which makes purchasing this unit very unlikely for anybody not working in graphics. The side bezels are thin enough, but the monitor itself is VERY thick. Easily twice as thick as most LCD panels. Also, the unit is much heavier than it appears.
Great monitor, should have bought the next larger size

Summary: This is a beautiful monitor, as it should be for the price. I also bought the SpectraView software direct from NEC; this works with my Gretag-Macbeth Eye-One spectrophotometer to do easy calibrations & the calibration look-up table is then stored in the monitor, not in the video card LUT in the PC. I recommend calibrating to 90 candela for best match to prints.
Thanks to NEC... Best LCD ... my eyes in peace now

Summary: This is my 6th LCD after Apple Cinema 23, this LCD is amazing, I'm using it for every thing editing, internet, programming. The main feature of this NEC over Apple is AUTO BRIGHTNESS which changes the brightness according to the light of the room, and according to the picture itself (with dark pictures it increases brightness and with white background it decreases brightness), so your eyes will be comfortable.
Summary: I own an NEC LCD2190UXp monitor. The reasons why I choose this model were that I wanted more than one DVI input, wanted an S-PVA panel and wanted to be able to turn off interpolation when not supplying the native resolution to the monitor (1600x1200 pixels). Originally I was looking into buying a Samsung 244T, but it was missing the features that I wanted. The Samsung and the NEC seem to use the same Samsung S-PVA panel though.
