Summary: Had one replaced in 1.5 years and 2years later the second died. Good picture when it worked. Item was replaced by nec at no charge with a refurbished 2 year old monitor ??? Will keep away from NEC. Should not have died....twice.
Summary: I did a lot of research before buying a monitor for my photography purposes. I am very happy that i found this monitor FOR SUCH A LOW PRICE! You have no idea how happy i am after installing, calibrating, and editing some photos with this unit. I can't believe that i have bought a such high quality monitor for this price. A couple of years ago i could only dream of having such thing, because they cost so much money, even now, some monitors cost more than $1000 dollars.
Summary: This is a great monitor because it is an IPS monitor and the user can tilt, rotate, and raise the screen. We have had it for over six months and we are still loving it. I didn't have any bleeding problems. The three year warranty is very generous. Check out the reviews at NewEgg.com.
Summary: As a happy owner of the EA231WMI I'm sorry to see that the new model, EA232WMI, has a bleeding issue. I ordered this monitor because the EA231 is no longer readily available. The first one I received bled so badly that there was a slight discoloration in the lower left corner when viewing a darker image. Hoping it was just a defective unit, I returned and Amazon shipped out a replacement right away.
Summary: The first unit I received from Amazon made a high pitched whine. This could be slightly mitigated by adjusting the intensity of the backlight, but I couldn't find any way to make it go away altogether. I contacted NEC tech support: although they were very polite, they were unable to do anything to help. I sent it back to Amazon and they dutifully shipped me a replacement. Sadly the replacement also whined, albeit quieter this time.
Summary: I really like the Monitor. I have an older LG LCD Monitor and having them side by side the LG is very gray compared to the NEC. The whites are bright and the Blacks are Deep black. Watching Netflix or Videos looks great. Happy with text and colors. My only complaint is the extreme lack of intuitiveness of the Display buttons and Menu.
Summary: Bought this monitor to replace my NEC E231W which uses a TN panel. It is good, but not good enough to be worth spending extra money to replace my EW231. There is a huge improvement in viewing angle. Colors look somewhat more vivid, and contrast is marginally better. When playing Starcraft II, I did not notice any ghosting. The speakers are totally useless.
