Summary: This is certainly a good monitor. I've been using it everyday now since 2010. I photo edit on it--the gamma adjustment went very well. I watch videos on it. I even play Xbox 360 games on it, which it is definitely not intended for, though does well enough. It is built very well and I suspect it will last me a good number of years. Things I am not fond of: The lack of an HDMI input.
Summary: This monitor is really good for a back-lit LCD monitor. An excellent alternative to those highly priced IPS monitors. Even cheaper than Dell makes them. NEC is a quality monitor manufacturer that is not to be taken lightly. No dead pixels or anything on this monitor. I've heard complaints about the joystick-like control that is used to navigate the On-Screen Display.
Excellent monitor...with some units having color uniformity issues.

Summary: I have to first say that this is the best monitor I have ever owned. But it is also the worst. Let me explain. I first ordered this monitor in January. When it arrived, I was mightily impressed by the clean, professional bezel and matte screen. Before making this purchase, I carefully studied all of the alternative monitors in this size and price range. This NEC monitor is definitely the most aesthetically appealing in my eyes.
Summary: This monitor has met my expectations. As a casual photo editor, I have been satisfied with the colors with no adjustment. I set up the gamma in my graphics driver, and was good to go. I did not find the screen controls difficult to learn or use, with one exception, which has not been mentioned here, and which was not noted in the downloadable user manual: assume you've already turned off the eco-mode and auto-brightness.
Summary: I bought this monitor for its better color reproduction, which is much better than other non-ips monitors that I've used. Color does not change as you change the viewing angle, and there is no banding in the images. The photos look more realistic and color tend to be very accurate even without any adjustment (maybe I did select one of the factory defined color mode). There are some complains I found online regarding uneven back light.
Summary: I bought this monitor despite the 14ms response time, the price is a bit high, compared to LCD LED screen that usually have a much faster response time. If this screen have 8ms then I would gave 5 star. However I haven't have issue with playing any movies/games despite the response time...it might have something to do with the IPS technology. 23" is perfect on my desk.
Summary: I have owned the monitor for almost a month now and so far I am pleased. I am an amateur photographer and use the monitor with both a PC running XP and a new laptop running Windows 7. I used Huey Pro to calibrate the monitor, and as yet have not printed any photos because my printer an HP 9180 needs a couple cartridges, so I can not compare screen to print quality and color yet.
Summary: I will throw out some random facts: 0. MATTE SCREEN! 1. This monitor is about 1/2" shorter than the typical 19" (5:4; 1280 x 1024) LCD. 1/2" shorter and 56 more pixels, so the pixel density is marginally higher than the 19" squarish monitor. 2. The speakers are just adequate. Those who have the original Mac mini should appreciate it. However, if you really want sound quality, you'd better hook up to an external speakers. 3.
