NEC EA231WMi is one of the more interesting monitors today due to the IPS panel technology that Dell is also using in their 2209WA and U2410 monitors. Therefore my expectations were high but EA231WMi did not let me down. NEC EA231WMi has good default settings and a nice sRGB profile providing you with accurate picture quality for amateur graphic designers and photographers. Overall the NEC fairs very well I think and comes out top in many of the comparisons with its popular rivals, the Dell U2410 and HP LP2475W. It offers superior performance in some areas, but doesn't have it all and has a few disappointing drawbacks though in my opinion. The lack of some interface options like HDMI is a shame I think and you're a bit limited with what the EA231WMi offers here. Read more
This monitor is really good for a back-lit LCD monitor. An excellent alternative to those highly priced IPS monitors. Even cheaper than Dell makes them. NEC is a quality monitor manufacturer that is not to be taken lightly. No dead pixels or anything on this monitor. I've heard complaints about the joystick-like control that is used to navigate the On-Screen Display. Read more
