Good for higher resolution and willing to take a bit more weight for it.

Summary: This is not an LED monitor, and thus is a bit heavier than the newer technology. It is very well made, noticeably brighter than the Samsungs LCDs I have sitting on both sides of it. Being the high end of the older LCD technology it is higher resolution than the newer LED ones that are limited by being compatible with HDTV screens to hold the production costs down. I would like to buy a couple of more when the price is right.
Summary: This is an amazing monitor. The picture is the best that I have ever seen (although I don't see this level of quality at most stores), and the weighted stand adjusts smoothly in all planes. At 26 inches, some may think that it's too large, but going back to a 20" monitor is near painful. I could have gotten a monitor for half the price, but after using this, I would never be satisfied with a cheap one.
Summary: My old setup was 2 Dell 17" Flat Panel monitors (1702FP). One died so I replaced it with this NEC EA261WM-BK 26" inch monitor. Wow, what an improvement!! This new monitor is very bright, and huge!!. I considered the Dell UltraSharp monitors but they were too expensive. I use the monitor primarily for home use (MS Office, Web Browsing, some Photo editing), so I can't comment on how this works for pro photo editing. The monitor build quality is great.
Summary: This is a commercial grade heavy duty monitor. Makes the current line of LCDs from other companies like Samsung look and feel like cheap toys in comparison. It is a dying breed of 16:10 aspect monitors which give you an extra inch on the bottom of the screen for the task bar without eating into your prime 1080P real estate. Also has REAL buttons, speakers and an adjustable stand that rotates! Unfortunately they rarely make them like this anymore.
Summary: I bought this for my mac mini because of the 1920x1200 resolution, 26" size, and non-glare screen. Image quality is excellent (especially with the mini display port to dvi adapter). The built-in speakers sound canned. The up-and-down, left-and-right, and pivoting stand are great. I would recommend this monitor for computer use. [...
Summary: Comments about NEC MultiSync EA261WM-BK Widescreen LCD Monitor: I have 2 of them on my desk and they are very nice. I like almost everything about them, just that they seem not as sharp as other monitors I had (Apple, Eizo). Great colors, easy to adjust, with speakers, overall a 9 out of 10 in my book. Highly recommended.
Summary: Our initial impression of NEC's widescreen 26-inch EA261WM LCD monitor was overwhelmingly positive, primarily due to the thought put into its ergonomics. What puzzles us most about monitor design is why--even with obscenely expensive panels--user comfort is so often overlooked. If you're planning on shelling out a load of cash for a monitor, something as simple as height adjustment (rather than the default homebrew solution of piles of books) seems like an obvious...
