LED "replacement" for NEC EA191M monitor

Old School, Amazon
26 March 2015
  • Summary: I'm using this as an LED replacement for a NEC EA191M-BK, which was CFT illuminated. The CFT went bad in the EA-191. The EA-191 was in a Multi-cade game, so a good physical match/fit was important. It fit into this application mounting very well.

Pretty good, NOT widescreen, no height adjustment

Anonymous, Newegg
4 February 2014
  • Summary: I knew these weren't "widescreen" from the picture and other reviews. Didn't realize they only come with VGA cables, not DVI. Good thing I had some lying around. Also, there's no way to adjust the height of these. Had to put some boxes under each screen...
  • Pros: Not bad. Picture looks fine. Used for financial programmer.
  • Cons: No height adjustment-- fixed height base. DOES NOT COME WITH DVI CABLES! Not "widescreen".

  • Summary: Thank science NEC is still making square LCDs.. especially one that's IPS. I looked for a while until I found this one, otherwise you seem to get into commercial grade only (big money!)
  • Pros: Its NOT Widescreen as description states. Definitely a 5:4 screen. - Color and viewing angles are superb. - Low power consumption. - NOT widescreen.
  • Cons: None so far.

NOT widescreen, 5:4 aspect ratio

Mark G., Newegg
7 January 2014
  • Summary: Great for medical applications
  • Pros: Great replacement for patient monitoring systems, since widescreen monitors stretch out the EKG waveforms. LED monitors with this aspect ratio are hard to find.
  • Cons: None
