Summary: NEC has always made nice (and expensive) panels. These are just as nice, but not quite as expensive. Take them out of "eco mode". Turning down the brightness below seventy puts the panel in a low-power state that makes it just look.. bad. My wife has three of these in an AMD Eyefinity setup.
Pros: These are very nice, 4:3 format LCD panels. We have three of these for my wife's workstation. Their color rendition is better than the $150 1600x900 acer panels we had before. Their brightness is good, and all three panels match each for color and brightness fairly well out of the box -- had to t...
Cons: No cons. These are 1280x1024, 60hz, 4:3 aspect ratio panels. If you're buying these, you should know that they are not widescreen and not HD: they're precisely the same format as the LCD and CRT panels you used in the early 2000's.
Summary: I bought one of these elsewhere. The monitor is bright. Way too bright! There is next to no color saturation. Text has a horizontal misalignment and is not sharp horizontally at all screen resolutions including the native 1280x1024.
Summary: The size of the monitors might be a problem for most people, but when you have limited space and small desk you need monitors this size. I purchase two of these for my five year old and seven year old daughter and with two computer desk in one room you have to think small.
