Beautiful Monitor. When you get one that works.

Sandra K., Newegg
29 July 2010
  • Summary: Never EVER go through LG if you need to return or replace your monitor. If they do replace your monitor you will probably receive a used one like I did, with a short warranty on it.
  • Pros: Looks fantastic, even without calibration. Heavy green tint on this monitor, as others have stated. Nothing a quick change in your graphic card settings can't fix.
  • Cons: This monitor needs more stringent quality control. See below. Had to get a replacement for 2 monitors. First one I received worked for a whole 5 minutes, and then it died on me. I decided to go through LG for a replacement, which was a big mistake. See below. I ordered a new one on newegg and tha...

Pretty Good

Roy G., Newegg
27 May 2010
  • Summary: FX 3500 - I know old, but she does the job.
  • Pros: Great screen size, user controls. Weight was less then I thought it would be. Like the touch controls. No bleeding of light at the edges. I do loads of CAD work, all my company provides are small 19" monitors. This plus my 20" work GREAT.
  • Cons: Did have the noted green tint. Needed to spend about 30 minutes adjusting the settings. Still playing with it.

Nice 30" LCD display

Brett S., Newegg
3 May 2010
  • Summary: So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase, though I was nervous at first. I was coming from a slightly smaller Samsung LCD, and I can easily say that this was worth the investment.
  • Pros: - Bright, crisp picture - HUGE display area, best bang for the buck compared to the other 30" displays out there - Vivid, consistent color, from edge to edge - Decent viewing angle, easily viewable from 30 degrees off to either side. - Nice response time, no visible "ghosting", or "lag" of any ki...
  • Cons: - Given the nature and size of the display - if you're not familiar with it - you may notice a very slight "rainbow" or iridescence on very bright and lighter colors/greys. As others have said, it's only noticeable if you are looking for it, or if you are close to the screen. - This LCD does inde...

a little green

Anonymous, Newegg
15 February 2010
  • Pros: This is a fantastic computer monitor. It turns on very quickly. Looks great on 1080p movies. It's huge.
  • Cons: Beware! You'll need a dual-link dvi connection to drive this monster. I didn't anticipate that my current computer at time of purchase wouldn't be able to drive this thing--I had to get a new computer just to display anything at its native resolution. Also, the color runs a little bit green. I di...

ricardo g., Newegg
19 July 2009
  • Summary: but i can only knock off 1 egg for this... as you deff. get what you payfor, but if you willing to spend a lil more get a dell wfp3008, it has a DP,Hdmi, and dvi port so its future proof.
  • Pros: its does everything eveeryone else said, awsome res.
  • Cons: seriously?!? no HDMI... even worse... No DP port so when it replaces dvi and hdmi like next year :/ what a shame.

Beautiful! No Dead Pixels!

Noah B., Newegg
20 April 2009
  • Summary: 4 eggs due to no HDMI support. I know that no other 30" monitors have this feature, but if it had the HDMI support and I could use the Xbox 360 through it, then it would have been 5. My old 24" LCD from LG allowed me to play the xbox in 1080p.
  • Pros: Big, beautiful, and no dead pixels. It calibrates just fine with a Spyder2Express. I've read that you need a Spyder 3 because it's "wide gamut," but the 2 seems fine. Running off of a 260GTX 216 Core and it's amazing. Blu-Ray's look awesome too.
  • Cons: No HDMI support and can't use a DVI/HDMI cable with my 360 and this monitor. No way around it, it just won't work. No other inputs...just the one.

Ok. so it's really good

Nathan Y., Newegg
2 April 2009
  • Summary: After I had to return mine, I tried a $300 asus monitor and I never really understood the huge difference between the panel types, but boy this LG has an amazing picture in comparison with amazing color. When these become available again I'll probably rebuy.
  • Pros: Really sharp picture. Once calibrated, really nice color. Extremely large screen.
  • Cons: Noticable pixel blur for fast movement. gives off a lot of heat. Mine came with one stuck pixel and the upper half was tinted a different color than the bottom half. Had to return to manufacturer because of that.

Love/Hate on Day 1

Adrian F., Newegg
19 March 2009
  • Summary: "To get the full benefit of 2560x1600, you'll need a dual link DVI connector and cable" is a gross understatement. Although impressed with the picture, even at 1280x800, I'm deeply disappointed with this single link DVI fiasco.
  • Pros: Just received mine today. Hooked everything up and turned it on. I was immediately floored by the brilliant picture and size. I'm deployed overseas and was worried that rough handling would result in many dead pixels. I've uncovered two pixels stuck green and only barely visible on an all black s...
  • Cons: PROSPECTIVE BUYERS BE AWARE. If you don't have a confirmed Dual Link DVI source, you will only get 1280x800 resolution. That's right, 1280x800. I foolishly assumed that even a single link DVI (as well as HDMI) source would get you to at least 1920x1200. My notebook (a SAGER 9750 with Geforce Go 7...

Arrived today

Christopher T., Newegg
7 January 2009
  • Summary: No ghosting. Gets rather hot on top, with the faint smell of hot plastic. Takes about 30 minutes to warm up. Delay feels about the same as my 22" Asus VW222u with 2 ms delay, so that's good. Using an i1 is a great way to produce an ICC profile for this monitor.
  • Pros: 30 inches -- takes up about 80% of my vision and feels similar to wearing virtual reality goggles while playing games. S-IPS panel from LG (inventors of IPS). No scaler, so no built-in OSD menu, but also no 30-40 ms input delay. Can still scale the display to almost any resolution with my GTX 280...
  • Cons: Expensive; it was just like buying a high-end TV for my desk. Still arrived with 3 stuck green pixels. I don't know if this was my fault or the shipping so I recommend being very GENTLE with this monitor. I might get annoyed by this at some point, but seriously it is only noticeable on a complete...

Doch nein bin ganz zufrieden

D. Stender, Amazon
10 July 2010
  • Summary: So jetzt ist der Bildschirm hier. Also ich muß sagen ich bin ganz zufrieden. Die 30" und vor allem die WQXGA-Auflösung (2560x1200) ermöglichen schon ein unheimlich komfortables Arbeiten.
