I love this monitor

BookStruck, Amazon
16 March 2012
  • Summary: P.S. Sep 9, 2012: Still working, although the brightness is a little unstable, sort of pulsating, but only occasionally and not too seriously. There is color distortion such that certain colors are slightly different at the top & bottom of screen. It is barely noticeable and not nearly as serious as that sounds -- it's just that this monitor is not for a graphics professional. It is perfect for the rest of us. You'll love it, except for the power switch, as noted below.

Worth It

Steven Dillon, Amazon
14 March 2012
  • Summary: Pros: The output is beautiful, bright, clear, crisp & great black levels. Backlight bleeding is average and very acceptable (minimal at the top/bottom/sides). Backlight bleeding is simply a fact of LCD at the mid price level. I cannot speak for the $1200+ monitors. LG is the only LCD maker that I can be happy with the black levels. I have tried another top name brand and felt very gray. But not with LG.

Excellent monitor, glad I bought it!

Keith Robinson, Amazon
24 April 2011
  • Summary: I wanted something big enough to be used as a TV screen for watching HD1080 content (e.g. Blu-Ray discs). There seems to be a boundary around 32 inches - manufacturers don't seem to make HDTVs below that or HD monitors above that. When I was shopping, HD Freeview was looming and most HDTVs did not have this as standard. I decided it was better to buy a monitor now and an HD Freeview tuner box later. No sense replacing a whole TV when you just need a different tuner.
