Summary: I bought this LCD last fall at another website for a bit more money. I've had good experience with LG in the past, and went for it. Out of the box: Color is a bit bright, but when adjusted slightly lower, gives a beautiful picture. I went through the Windows Media Center calibration videos, which were pretty simple and worked well. The Good: I love the picture and video quality. I have a bluray drive on my PC and watch films with beautiful quality.
Summary: I have now owned this product and used it 3 - 5 days a week at work for more than 8 months (i.e., more than 1,300 hours of use), and not a single problem. I previously had a 19" widescreen at home and work, but after moving up to a 30" monitor at home I could no longer stand the lack of real estate at home - I never thought I would come to think of a 19" screen as small.
Summary: This was a special warehouse purchase that was reported to have a slightly damaged box and a blemish on the case of the unit for a reduced price. I could care less about the box or a blemish on the case. Unit arrive timely and looked better than reported; however, it would not start (zero burn in time). I shipped the unit back immediately to Amazon.com and they charged me $19.04 for the experience.
Summary: Like the review posted by L. Bourke, I too was initially impressed by this monitor however. I now have the same problem as this reviewer, I purchased my monitor in July 2008, and started getting the problem at the beginning of November. Initally it would flicker once or twice a day, but now I can only use the monitor for about 30 minutes before the flicker becomes unbeareable.
Summary: I've had my LG W2452T for about 6 months now. Until a few days ago, I would have highly recommended this product. The color, contrast, etc are all great. The price is pretty good for what you get as well. The only bad thing out of the box is its casing: its seems like really cheap plastic. However, I can no longer recommend this product at all. After 6 months of perfect operation, it seems to be failing.
Summary: This is a great monitor for the price that you are getting it at. I use it for casual use, and for a little bit of graphic design and programming. Unfortunately I'm only able to connect through the VGA port for now so I can't review the full quality of the picture this monitor could provide. I find the picture quality pretty amazing though compared to my old 19" dell monitor. The blacks are very black, not gray, and the whites are very white.
Excerpt: "Firstly... The Screen quality is superb whether being used on my Xbox360 ( needed to purchase a xbox360 to VGA Cable, under £10 on ebay.) or as my monitor to watch movies on. Refresh rate is fantasic and is up there with the best monitors available. Secondly.... It looks Amazing. sleek black finishing with the blue Power button looks great, and the mojnitor itself isnt heavy and quite thin. The Base was simple to put on, which was a delight ...
Excerpt: "When I bought this from PC World, I mistook the HDCP badge on the front to mean HDMI, so I was initially disappointed when I got it home. since it has only vga and dvi. Once I switched it on, I was no longer disappointed. using a HDMI to DVI cable (from sainsburys, so not rare) I connected it to my xbox360 and watched a HD-DVD at 1080p. pin sharp and better than my 32". I forgot all about returning it, and remain pleased with it 2 months later. Only ...
Pros: Quality . pure and simple .
Cons: No HDMI, or wall obvious wall mounting options
