Summary: I already had one of these monitors, but couldn't stand not having a dual monitor setup anymore. The monitor is a great one, especially for the price. It's not the best IPS monitor out there, but again, the price is right. The monitor itself is 4 stars. I am not one to buy used for some reason, but I did here. And the only reason I did is because of Amazon's great customer service. I bought it used through Amazon from Better Choice Online.
Summary: I mated this with an existing LG IPS236V and this "refirb" is as good as the original product that I purchased from Best Buy and not near the cost. We all know "refirbs" can be a hit and miss thing but this one hit the mark. Has been in service for several months and is working as desired.
Summary: I bought one at walmart last year. The on/off switch has always been intermittent. Now it's off and I can't get it back on. I'm not sure how wide-spread this problem is. If you're thinking about buying one, do a little research. But other than that, it's got a good-looking image; I wouldn't complain.
Summary: LG IPS236V 23" 1080p HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor is vertually identical to the LG IPS235* MONITOR with one major exception...THE STAND. All the bad reviews on the 235's don't seem to be technical but stand related. This heavier stand fixes those concerns. We have another 236 from a different vendor that we got about a year ago. Why we didn't get 2 at that time is only due to the fact that the CRT was still kicking.
Summary: I recently finished a new desktop and wanted to go with a 3 monitor setup. I researched for about 2 weeks. It was narrowed down to about 6 choices. From there it was price to performance that the LG Flatron IPS236V-PN 23" was my choice. I purchased 3 of these monitors used on eBay. The color, clarity, sharpness, and response time was even better than I anticipated. Plus I saved a lot of money. An absolutely great product.
Summary: I got a deal on this monitor, I did not pay more than $150, including shipping. So, for that price, it's pretty decent. It's good a good picture quality, though I expected IPS to be way sharper images than normal LED's...The IPS improvements are not that discernible. Now, the WORSE part about this monitor is the stand..It is so flimsy that the A/C blowing across the room was able to make the monitor tremble!
Summary: I looked at many monitors and chose this one after allot of research, and I am not disappointed! I saw a few people complain about bleed through from the backlite, mine does not. It has an awesome picture, everything from pics, to HD movies, to graphics simulation is perfect. You can't go wrong with this monitor, it is a great buy for the money. LG seems to have some of the better product coming out of China.
Summary: A few folks have complained about text with this monitor, but I suspect they didn't find the "mode" menu with the option for text, nor (more importantly) are they using the display's optimum resolution. I replaced a great pair of Samsung 22" in my studio with a pair of these and find them every bit as crisp with text as the Samsungs were (which are now in my office). The "wobbly" stand issue I don't get.
Summary: I researched for days looking for the right monitor for my first new computer in 11 years. At first I was looking at Samsungs but their monitor quality has gone down in their new generation. I looked into the Viewsonic and ASUS monitors, however, they didn't have the right connectivity that I needed (both DVI and HDMI), they didn't have good professional reviews, or they just didn't look sexy enough.
