Summary: I bought this Monitor because I purchased a new desk top and needed to have a black one. It has controls on it to adjust the brightness of screen, has very good contrast and picture sharpness. This monitor has plenty of brightness, it is too much for me. I had to cut down the brightness to suit me, that is one good thing about this monitor. It comes packaged in a suitcase type shipping box.
Pros: When on sale is cheap for IPS. Very good colors. Can get sound through HDMI, via headphone jack/speaker jack on the monitor. Nice colors, blacks are good too.
Cons: If you are planning on using this for something that cuts its signal when switching (for example a PS3 and exiting out of a game to the home screen), the monitor will go into "power saving mode" you'll have to switch the input back to the correct one. (minus 1 egg)
Summary: It would just seem that for such beautiful monitors the boxing of the product could be much better.
Pros: Crisp picture, excellent picture, great product for price.
Cons: I don't normally review items I purchase, but I feel I need to. The boxing of this product is terrible. I ordered two of these monitors, and after unboxing both, I noticed smudges on both of the screens. Aside from the large plastic bag that the monitors are in, there is no actual screen protector, only peel off bezel protectors. I had to use electronic cleaning wipes to wipe off the smudges on the screen due to the poor packaging. One of the monitors still has a smud...
Pros: Not a bad monitor for the price. I'd recommend it for the money, provided you can get over some of the relatively minor issues. HDMI nice to have for the money. HDMI Audio port an interesting option for some environments.
Cons: This monitor takes 2-3 times as long as my Samsung and Viewsonic displays to start from sleep. It is long enough to make you wonder if it is working (we are talking several seconds, not mins or anything) The Red power light is bright, you can turn it off, but then combined with the long-restart you would think the monitor was off. The stand wobbles easily (not a big problem, but might speak of build quality). Finally, I think they really cheaped out by not providing a...
Pros: My cons list is a litany of issues, but most of them are actually pretty easy to cope with. In exchange, you get an eIPS (6-bit) display that, outside of the slight edge bleed, has excellent uniformity and is able to produce excellent, reasonably accurate color. Once calibrated, the IPS224V can reproduce fine detail in video very well. Very few monitors in this price range feature VESA mounting, but the IPS224V has 75mm mounting holes, making it a great choice for mul...
Cons: Calibrated color gamut is just 65% of AdobeRGB1998 and 86.6% of sRGB. Minor edge backlight bleed can be distracting. Stock stand is pretty lousy and wobbly. Wall wart power brick. Only includes VGA cable. Power LED is *bright* and blinks aggressively in sleep mode; it can at least be disabled while the display is powered on, though. Displays will blank on an all-black image, which can be minorly irritating.
