Summary: Wasted three hours on this thing, finally called tech support. Sometimes monitor would work throught the WIndows 7 log-in then go dark taking my second monitor with it. Tried same thing with only the LG connected. Same result. Tried to install driver from the CD, got installation abort almost instantly for all three variations of 27" monitor. Did boot once, then turned on power to LG and my display settings for dual monitor correctly recognized both monitors.
Summary: Acceptable as second monitor for about $200 tax excluded. For an LED backlighting, this monitor seem to have Weak contrast and brightness in comparison to my 4 years old 27" LCD monitor with CFT backlighting which cost $350 back in the day. The HP monitor is bulkier.
Summary: I purchased two 27 inch monitors. They both look washed out and both had one stuck pixel or one semi stuck pixel. I am going to return the one with the permantely stuck green pixel. I am keeping the one that has a pixel that flickers blue sometimes. I had to calibrate my monitor for a good 20 mins until I found an accepatable color configuration. Out of the box it is really too bright for me and very blue. PROS: -The monitor is very sexy, light and thin.
