A Mediocre Monitor At A Good Price

Jon Boy, Amazon
8 October 2012
  • Summary: I use this monitor on a daily basis as a 2nd monitor for my MacBook Pro. The color reproduction on it is mediocre and I honestly purchased it more based on price than performance. • Summary: Setup for this monitor was a little challenging. The default settings for Windows 7 wouldn't allow the resolution to be changed adequately. However, after tinkering with the drivers a bit, I was finally able to see a full-screen view when I changed the resolution. Initially, I thought this was the fault of the monitor, but I was incorrect in this assessment. Just be aware that you may need to dig into your video settings to get the display the size you want it.

You get what you pay for

  • Summary: The good: -- Cheap! I bought mine on sale at MicroCenter for $170. Reasonable resolution and design. -- For the colors, which do look horrible when you you turn it on straight out of the box. -- I found that I was able to adjust the colors and even got them pretty close to my macbook pro when I paired them up. -- The screen does not shake as one of the reviewers said. The stand has little suction cups on the bottom that grip to my glass top desk. The bad: -- Cheap!
