Dead Pixel

Christopher O., Newegg
28 April 2015
  • Summary: I use HDMI for this Monitor through a EVGA GeForce GTX 760 and the graphics are always set to ultra. You can turn the whole screen sideways... Idk why you would want to but you can!
  • Pros: HUGE Screen! Awesome quality of picture. Built in speakers are alright. I paid $300 for this monitor and for that money it doesn't get much better. Star Wars The Old Republic and World of Warcraft look awesome on this beast. And with it being very wide it helps having those extra toolbars on the ...
  • Cons: Dead Pixel right in the middle of screen, LG claims they have no stock left to give me a replacement even though its in stock everywhere else. The screen does seem like its squished a bit, its not a tall monitor just very wide. Make sure your happy with the measurements before you spend $450-$600...

A New Paradigm

Carl J., Newegg
23 January 2015
  • Summary: I bought this as an open box sale to save a few bucks. Having experienced it now I would buy another at full price, but I'll probably wait for a sale.
  • Pros: This monitor looks amazing. Many people have said that the extra width does them no good, but I suspect that those people have never actually used a super widescreen monitor like this. The extra screen space rapidly became invaluable. I can have 3 documents up at once and see them all without scr...
  • Cons: I suppose this screen costs more than it otherwise would because it is a fairly new format and not popular enough yet to benefit from economies of scale. That's a shame though, because if more people used it then more people would realize what an improvement this is over 16:9 for most things we d...

Deceptive Screen Edge

Mr. W., Newegg
18 January 2015
  • Pros: Sharp, clean, adjustable stand
  • Cons: Where the screen start is deceptive. In all the LG ads the screen top-left and top-right starts very close to the edge. In actuality the screen starts about 1 cm from the edge. Even in the picture from newegg the screen edge (where the picture displayed) is wrong.

Pretty good!

Joong Y., Newegg
2 January 2015
  • Summary: People seem to have issues with the backlight bleed? Most IPS monitors will have a sort of bleed. That's the LIGHT SOURCE of the monitor. If you do not like that, do not use this monitor. While using it, there is no bleeding.
  • Pros: 2560x1080 resolution is amazing. Although most users will probably require a displayport to use this resolution, it only costs 10 or so dollars. The movie experience is stunning. Most movies have black bars when they are watched on a TV, wide screen, or a regular monitor, but when it is on this u...
  • Cons: The package does not include the displayport. It'll take most people to use the displayport to get this to work to its full extent, even as the description says. Not including the cable is stupid. The advertising picture seems to have an extremely thin bezel. The actual monitor have about half an...

nice but...

Marius L., Newegg
11 December 2014
  • Summary: Got rid of it and bought a 27" VA panel. Sure, I lost the extra pixels but.. IPS glow = never again....
  • Pros: - 2560 x 1080 not much more taxing for videocard - 21:9 format great for movies can add to immersion in games - height adjustment
  • Cons: - IPS glow: always hated it since it's annoying in dark scenes (movies and gaming) and at this size (29" - ultrawide) I think it's an even bigger deal. For me personally was a dealbreaker...

First Run, DVI Connection ALL Green

Bonnie S., Newegg
9 December 2014
  • Summary: It was worth the sale price, I'm going to see another cable or just upgrade video card. Either or Both. So go ahead and buy it, it Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Pros: OK, Pro's, I like the width and the option to go vertical. I like the split screen options (8) different splits. It's was worth the sale price. I have played movies and games, all good. Shipping was good, nothing broken or dead pix. I will update as it gets more use.
  • Cons: OK, Con's DvI connection was green, almost like it wasn't plugged in all the way.I have a 10ft DVI Cable. I tried both ends (flipped around). Plugged in all the way, still green screen, I could see the desktop, everything green. Plugged in the HDMI cable and screen back to normal. Display port ok...

It was better than I expected....

Simon H., Newegg
3 December 2014
  • Summary: The OSD menu is a little tricky to get the hang of at first, but once you have it it isn't too bad. I'd have still preferred a separate "select button" and power buttons. Not enough to remove an egg for though.
  • Pros: I bought this to replace an older 22" HP LCD monitor, other than just the sheer size, the IPS panel is worlds apart from the older tech, colours are better, viewing angle is amazing. I was initially sceptical of going from 16:10 to 16:9, but honestly I don't even notice the difference. Everything...

Could have been great, but still nice!

Alexander B., Newegg
2 December 2014
  • Summary: Got this on sale for Black Friday with VISA checkout. This will hold me over while 4k IPS panels mature and drop in price. I plan on picking one up for Black Friday 2015.
  • Pros: Beautiful detail on screen, great horizontal length, IPS display, 3 year warranty. Assassin's Creed looks incredible! Monitor has no bad pixels. Newegg got this to my door in a single day! Wow................
  • Cons: Only one, but significant. The vertical length is less than 13 inches. Coming from a 24" 1900 x 1200, I'm actually missing the extra inch in vertical length from my 24".

Sigh... Black Friday, must return?

Michael M., Newegg
2 December 2014
  • Summary: Oh well. If I got a faulty one, so be it, so long as they get me a working one I will re-review as appropriate!
  • Pros: Well, it turns on.
  • Cons: Monitor has a dark shadow the size of a baseball on the mid-bottom-right. It as if there are lights which shine up from the bottom which "light" the monitor, but a light-bulb is out kind of look. It does this upon powering on (even without input), tried multiple inputs, tried GPU w/ different mon...
