Summary: Overall is a good monitor, much sharper then the one it replaced. I think LG may have made a mistake with their power supply choice though.
Pros: -Good colors -Wide viewing angles -Aluminum finish is a nice touch
Cons: First one of these I had died in 3 days. After some troubleshooting I isolated the issue to the power supply. These monitors have an external brick power supply, which I fear is made cheaply in comparison. It is also a bit annoying to put on a power strip as it is rather large. I still had to RMA the whole thing even thought I suspected only the power supply to be faulty, but Newegg replaced it in a week so kudos to Newegg for that one. Have had the 2nd one for about ...
Summary: I built two gaming computers and these monitors are perfect. Screen is responsive, colors are accurately presented and text is bright and clear. No issues at all and the on-screen controls are easy to understand. The base is very sturdy and the price was very reasonable.
Summary: Only thing that got me worried was watching a movie on it the screen kept dimming and brightened back up if I moved the mouse, Searched control panel with no apparent ways to fix it and then I remembered the monitor had the super energy savings set to on by default so when sitting with no keyboard or mouse movement it would dim. Shut it off in the monitor menu and all was well. Was NOT a reason to deduct a egg but was a tad annoying until I figured it out.
Pros: Great color and no dead pixels, HUGE improvement over the 22 inch it replaced.
Cons: Only con was the preset colors looked horrible, But once calibrated in control panel the picture is perfect,
Summary: There's complaints of a lack of brightness. I do not have this issue and find it more than adequate, but then again I'm not using it in front of a bay window facing the sunrise or anything either.
Pros: Brushed aluminium look, attracted design, wall mountable, three inputs, crisp quality, cheap price and quick response time. I've yet to tinker with all the options yet.
Cons: The power cord is annoyingly short, as in maybe a few feet? smh. It also has a brick power adapter so expect it to hog up your power strip. A few lower resolutions don't seem to be scaling properly or appear softer than I'd expect, but video card scaling options seem to compensate just fine.
Pros: The display was very good, however it died 72 hours after installation. One pro is that since it quit such a short time after I bought it, I still have the box and all the packaging in the floor of my office, so hopefully I can return it....
Cons: Hooked it up, worked for 3 days, then black screen. No warning, just quit. I still had my old monitor that this one was supposed to replace handy, so I hooked it up an confirmed the problem. I thought with LG I was buying a quality product. Apparently that's not the case. Hopefully I can return it next week.
Pros: Crisp image, great picture. Works well for ps4 (games and netflix), and computer screen. Big upgrade in terms of ps4 gaming from my old 42" TV. I have never had another IPS monitor so I can't compare it, but from my old TN panel, this is outstanding.
Cons: Could be a tad brighter when I had it set up infront of a window.
Summary: I replaced a beautiful 23” 1920x1080 glossy panel monitor with this. The reason was, many programs have text and icons that are too small for full HD on a 23” panel. Viewing distance was ~20” on my 23”, requiring me to wear reading glasses. Viewing distance on this one is about 40”, requiring no readers. Win/win! I absolutely hate matte panels. They rob you of deep blacks and sharpness in small fonts and thin lines. However, the 40” viewing distance negates most of this.
Pros: Price, slim bezel, thin profile, no dead pixels, VESA mount (though stand tilts and is better than most), IPS panel renders colors accurately, HDPC compliant, power supply adapter on the cord, not built into the monitor making replacement easy and cheap, bright enough for most uses. Stylish brushed aluminum bezel.
Cons: No glossy panel version available, came from the factory with brightness set to 100%, The only fault (worth 1/2 of an egg) is the brightness, but it can be brightened with your video card software if needed (I haven’t need to yet) I’m not removing an egg for the matte panel, because I knew it was matte before I bought it.
Pros: Clear, sharp, precise image quality. Initially, I was very impressed by this monitor. The screen seemed very much larger than the 24" Acer it replaced, the display itself was sharp, precise, exactly as it should be.
Cons: Power supply, LG customer service. After 45 days of light use (I used it 3 days a week, maximum, call it 15-20 hours per week) the monitor just flatlined. No warning, just stopped working. LG customer service is a bit slow, their online support model isn't worth bothering with. Go by phone. LG's swap program apparently consists of sending someone else's returned monitor, as the replacement I got after about 2 weeks' downtime did not work either. I've already ordered a...
