Summary: As the others have said, the stand is cheap and will shear off. Yesterday (luckily while my wife was there) it sheared off and fell onto my desk. She caught it so the monitor is ok. Had she not been there, the monitor would have been ruined as well. However, I found a cheap (quality) solution. Go to Michael's or Aaron Brothers and get a metal 11 X 16 picture frame stand for $10 and the monitor will sit perfectly on the stand. Very stable and made of metal!
Summary: I've had this monitor for around 6 months now. Bought it from Best Buy and it was great for the price. But then the plastic stand just snapped and the monitor fell onto the table. Nobody was even using the computer nothing shook the table it was on.. it just broke and fell. Weirdest thing ever. Looks like I'm still under warranty so they said they will send a replacement. Now I see from the reviews here that other people have had this same issue as well.
Works great, but good luck getting help from LG when the flimsy stand breaks, and it WILL break

Summary: I bought this on sale from Best Buy, not on Amazon, but I'm so upset with the treatment from LG that I have to warn people. The screen is decent, definitely worthwhile in the price range. That's where the fun ends. The stand on this thing is made from the most flimsy plastic you will ever encounter. This monitor sat on my desk for 3 months, without being moved or touched.
Summary: A few Pros: Great viewing angles! Colors come pre-calibrated. Very lightweight. Now the Cons: Very flimsy, I felt it was about to fall apart every time I touched it. Its plastics look cheap. Cannot get the blacks to satisfactory levels. The very thin bezel in the product pics is (deliberately?) misleading, it's about 8mm thick. The base is too short (and also flimsy). You have to keep looking down to use the monitor. OSD buttons are touch-sensitive.
