Summary: This thing is nothing short of infuriating! I bought it about a year ago locally and it has been a pain ever since. It turns itself off at the drop of a hat... entering "power saving mode". I have 5 monitors attached to this machine, and this is the primary one. If I log in, and Windows dims the monitors upon login... it goes to sleep. If UAC challenges an install... it goes to sleep. I am about to throw it away and buy something else.
Summary: Had this monitor for about a year now, and it's been fantastic! I've had no complaints about the monitor itself, it's superior to my former flat panel in every way. But I am here to chime in with my cautionary tale: BEWARE THE STAND!!! Mine just snapped without warning. Luckily I was here to catch it, so the monitor is undamaged. This monitor sat stationary for the whole time I owned it (i have no need to adjust it) so there was no ware/tear for actual usage...
Summary: As the others have said, the stand is cheap and will shear off. Yesterday (luckily while my wife was there) it sheared off and fell onto my desk. She caught it so the monitor is ok. Had she not been there, the monitor would have been ruined as well. However, I found a cheap (quality) solution. Go to Michael's or Aaron Brothers and get a metal 11 X 16 picture frame stand for $10 and the monitor will sit perfectly on the stand. Very stable and made of metal!
Summary: Although the picture quality is pretty good the product is not worth how much it costs. The base is a fairly thin plastic and can break very easily. One the neck of the base is attached to the monitor it is almost impossible to remove. After having mine for about 6 months it broke for no reason. LG makes good products, this is just not one of them.
Summary: I wanted a large monitor for my new computer and this one seemed to be the best bang for the buck. and so far it is. The only issue i have is with the on off button and for that matter the other ones as well. they are to sensitive. if you bump them even very slightly the monitor shuts off. my speaker volume control is right under the power button. but other than that it is a great screen that is very sharp. and the computer set it all up automatically.
Summary: I was skeptical at first on getting this monitor due to its 400 dollar price tag, but i stumbled upon best buy having it on sale for 299.99 this week so i picked one up. Literally could not be happier with it. Pros:Good color contrast, amazing button design "they're like little bevels that require almost no force at all", Has a VGA, DVI, and an HDMI cable so no matter what type of output your computer has this monitor will accommodate it.
Summary: The only complaint is the controls are on the bottom, which is easy to use after you do it a couple of times. But if you stick your hand under the monitor to reach for something behind it, the monitor will turn off. Occasionally annoying. The monitor is very smooth and colorful and is fully visible at extreme angles. The colors seem correct from the factory according to my printer and RCB colormatch sheet.
