Summary: I got the monitors with a promotion code, making them almost as cheap as some of the Acer IPS monitors that were on sale. I guess I was paying extra for brand. Overall I'm happy with them.
Pros: Great color, fast response coming out of power save. I purchased 2 of these to replace some old Westinghouse 22" LCD monitors.
Cons: I did have to tweak with the colors out of the box. The blacks didn't seem quite right to me. They didn't seem quite as black as what my other monitors were. Once I got them setup, they look pretty good. I haven't done any gaming on them yet, but I'm sure they'll do fine.
Summary: I bought this for use with my Toshiba Satellite C655-S5061 Laptop, which can run the full resolution. Compares very favorably to the high end NEC MultiSync LCD2190UXI monitor that I use with my desktop that cost almost $1000 factory refurbished years back.
Pros: Inexpensive IPS monitor that Color Calibrates easily with a calibration device, unlike TN panel monitors that cannot display enough colors to calibrate. The Plug and Play is good enough that a monitor driver really isn't needed except for perhaps the color profile.
Cons: None for the price. Additional adjustments like height and rotation would be nice, but just won't be found at this price level.
Cons: I will not go into details of technical nature why I rated this monitor low quality. I have my other 3 year old LCD monitor connected to the same video card. The difference is tremendous for my eyes. This one wears them out very quickly... After looking away from it I feel an apparent relief to my eyes. Maybe the monitor is not calibrated well... but for sure it shouldn't tire out eyes. Last time I bought LED.
Summary: It was on sale with a code, and I paid $125 entirely for it. I guess you get what you pay for, because it's rather awful in terms of features and quality. It says there is a 'Reader Mode' - the manual says 'Just press the Reader Mode button" ...there is no reader mode button on the entire monitor. Most of the options on the on-screen display are just grey, with no way to enable them.
Pros: Very Inexpensive Large Format Clear Picture and Good Color Controls
Cons: Insanely thin and flimsy Half the OSD options don't work Requires drivers, but drivers don't do anything Almost impossible to find support from LG for this product Included install CD was complete trash
Summary: My settings for best picture quality: Brightness: 100 Contrast: 90 Response Time: High Black Level: Low Game: Gamma2 Red: 48 Green: 40 Blue: 52 Six Color adjustments are maxed out for all colors
Pros: 1. Picture quality is great after adjustment 2. Menu options are straight-forward and correspond to the buttons underneath.
Cons: 1. Picture quality is absolutely horrible out of the box 2. Stand is glossy so it is super-reflective 3. Stand does not need to be so big 4. Stand is a bit wobbly but not as bad as others 5. Connections are lacking with only one HDMI and one VGA 6. Power supply is one of this brick ones that attaches to the power outlet which could obstruct other outlets if connected to a power strip
Summary: In the MENU, be sure to set "Response Time" to High and press the FUNC and set "Super Energy Saving" to off. I like saving energy but at it's worst, this monitor is using half the power my old one did. The energy saving feature will automatically adjust the display and it's horrible. The response time is pretty critical for gaming and movies too.
Pros: - AH-IPS panel with 5ms response time - 23" - LED backlit (longevity, low power, no streaking, no heat) - External power brick - No dead/stuck pixels
Cons: - LG doesn't seem that great for support. Another reviewer commented on it and I'm not surprised. One of the factors in purchasing this monitor was the 3-year warranty advertised on the LG website. However, in the paperwork with the monitor, it clearly states 1 year. I tried to register the monitor online and their links don't work (redirecting to a page that doesn't exist). - Not a huge variety of inputs, only VGA & HDMI. I used a DVI to HDMI cable and it works fine ...
