Iiyama Prolite XB2779QS-B1 27 Inch WQHD Monitor - Black
1 March 2014
Conclusion: I agonised long and hard over whether the enormous price hike for a 2560x1440 resolution monitor could ever be worth it, especially when you can have 2 'normal' monitors of the same size for a lot less money! In the end though, I bit the bullet and opted to buy this monitor and wow, what a display.
Summary: Bought this model through Amazon but not from this supplier. My old tower PC does not have the modern terminals so I have to use the VGA cable from my old Iiyama 17 inch. Reduced brightness to 80% and all is fine.
Summary: It is true, I am not the authority on 27inch monitors, but I have to say that I am well impressed with the Iiyama XB2779QS. Ok if you have the cash you will probably go for the Apple display, but at about half the price this Iiyama gives a fabulous image & looks good.
Summary: I have had this monitor for 2 month and I am very happy with my purchase. The screen is very sharp, look great and by far the best screen I have ever own. The factory setting renders the screen to bright but easy to adjust so all in all highly recommended.
Summary: Only had the monitor for a few days but absolutely love it. Easy to adjust and with a fabulous resolution, this monitor will be hard to beat. I did consider an import from Korea which was considerably cheaper but all the hassle of import duties, taxes, VAT etc put me off.
Summary: At the price, excellent. A couple seemed to have had issues with this monitor, but the general consensus is good... and it is. Problems are probably associated with unrealistic expectations and/or suppliers. Very similar to the 27 inch iMac screen.
Summary: My six year old 20" NEC 20WGX2Pro made me a fan of glossy screen monitors and I am quite happy to trade reflectivity for brilliant vibrant colours. A few years ago I traded up to a Hazro 27" 2560 x 1440 glossy screen which had a nice image but poor build quality and eventually some dust got trapped...
