Summary: I bought this monitor because I had read good things about it. For a while it worked fine. Nine months after I bought it the monitor went into sleep mode and did not come out of it. The USB ports no longer were recognized by my computer. The only way the monitor would work was to hook it up via VGA. To make sure it wasn't a problem with my computer, we hooked it up to a different computer. It was the monitor.
Summary: Just the other day I was playing a certain Online Video Game for 5 hours in the Southern California Heat and now my Monitor is wreaked. MY HP ZR24w now has Horrible Image Persistence/Burn in all along the sides of the screen, Hewlett-Packard's warranty conveniently "for them" doesn't cover Burn in ether... This is unacceptable for a $400.00 product! Hewlett Packard has wasted my time with this money sink and they've lost a customer from buying another product from HP.
Summary: Would not work w/ Macbook Pro, tried DVI and Displayport connectors. Monitor came on for 1 second and then blacked out. No Mac software so could not address this in set up software. HP support kept me on hold 45 min and then dropped the call. Apple support blamed HP. Sheesh!!
Beware if you plan to use with DisplayPort Connection!

Summary: The monitor looks great but only if you are using a DVI connection. Tried multiple computers connected to Display Port (DVI -> DP, DP -> DP) and it just shows no signal. DVI works great but I can't get the DisplayPort to work correctly. This is my second ZR24w monitor. I returned the first one because I thought it was a bad port but with the same issues on this second monitor lead me to believe it may be a bad production batch.
Summary: When I turn this monitor on, on what should be a black background, I find two red wing-like splotches and two large red pimples in the middle of the blackness. They are always there unless some color is superimposed on them in sufficient strength. This means if you are looking at a picture of a nighttime object, you will see the red on any blackness at that position on the screen.
Summary: This is a good monitor with easy set up and good connectivity with three possible ways to connect to your computer. The first monitor I had a problem with after a few months, suddenly a red line appeared down the screen. I rang HP and fair dues they replaced it within 2 days. Then I had a problem 2 months later with the replacement monitor, they didn't want to know.
Summary: Klang gut auf dem Papier: Pivot, DisplayPort, DVI, VGA, gute Ausleuchtung, keine Stoergeraeusche.
