Summary: This was by far the best monitor when it was released I go as far as saying it was ahead of it's time simply because we are in 2011 and my 2008 monitor hasn't aged compared to the competition specially at 1920x1200. I would had given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact this monitor got me into prescription lens!
Summary: I purchased this monitor a while ago to replace a defective Acer monitor of similar specs. It was on sale at Circuit City (that should tell you how long ago it was, Circuit City hasn't been in business for a while). Anyway, it works but I can't say it's a very good display. The colors are extremely over-saturated and no amount of tweaking will correct that.
Summary: Purchased several HP monitors. One went bad while under warranty and spent over three hours trying to get a return authorization to have it repaired. Nice monitor until you need help. Then be prepared to spend a half day or more trying to get authorization to get it repaired.
"ISPENT 10 MINUTES LOOKING FOR THE NON-EXISTENT DVI PORT"
11 April 2009
Pros: The monitor looks pretty stylish and the colors are fairly good.
Cons: What the hell? Where is the DVI port? My only choice is to go out and buy a HDMI to DVI cable for about $50 -$60 bills. The text rendering is some of the worst I have ever seen. Hopefully the new cable will solve that problem.
Monitor is good while it works....but HP quality is going down

Summary: I had this product a little over a year (so basically it was out of warranty). One morning the screen just started showing everything with a pink shade. Called HP but they could not help other than advising to buy another one (Like I wanted to spend another $400+ on an HP monitor in just one year).
Julien Pierre "Software engineer and amateur ..., Amazon
23 March 2009
Summary: Pros : - Picture is bright, no dead pixels on mine - Pivot ability - Built-in USB hub Cons : - Colors are really inaccurate to many other monitors, though this is common to many others with TN panels in this price range - The monitor had problems going into sleep mode. It would stay on and gobble electricity occasionally even when the computer was off. This seems to be a common problem with this unit unfortunately.
Summary: I purchased this monitor primarily to use in portrait mode; as it was one of the few that had a stand that supported rotation. Any monitor could be used in portrait obviously ... I'd thought about buying a wall mount or crafting some crazy system up on my desk. Anyway ... I need portrait because I'm a programmer and I have to wade through hundreds of lines of crappy code , functions that are billions of lines long ...
Summary: Not sure if others have this issue, but 2 issues caused me to send this otherwise very good display back: - the fan inside the monitor developed an irritating drone - when the computer goes to sleep, instead of going to sleep this monitor alternated between bright white, magenta and green displays forever.
"Excels as a small 1080p TV but has light bleed at edges"
22 December 2008
Pros: Excellent color as long as you don't limit the palette by using the pretty much debilitating wizard tool. Bluray movies and 1080p movies look great.
Cons: Awful ergonomics (power button ideally requires two fingers and thumb to operate; turning down volume requires a minimum a of 3 button presses), at desktop distances vertical orientation is almost impossible to view and there is HORRIBLE light bleed.
