Summary: Don't bother w/ this item. HP monitors are usually no good (Gateway is better), and CRT is really, a thing of the past. Find an LCD display, these days, they don't cost so much. Don't buy the cheapest one, cuz, happiness is just around the corner.
Summary: I don't personaly own one of these but I've seen them in an office depote and they look good. Don't listen to the people that gave it a bad rating, they don't know what they are talking about. Flat screen monitor doesn't mean that its thin, it means the screen is flat, LCD and plasma tvs and monitors are the thin ones. CRT monitors on the other hand are bulky and bigger and are NOT THIN, they can have a flat screen surface, but are definetly not thin.
Summary: To all the people who wrote bad reviews: It isn't HP or Amazon's fault that you couldn't read the product description!!! It says straight up that it is a flat screen CRT, not an LCD. Why don't you people take some responsibility for yourselves, rather than blame the product for your poor reading skills!!! Anyways, I'm giving this 5 stars to help even out the bad reviews.
Summary: Heads up for those of us out there who are low tech. Despite the photo representation of this product it is not a FLAT PANEL, which is a thin monitor. It is a FLAT SCREEN, which has a standard depth. I had purchased this as a gift for my husband and was sorely disappointed when it arrived. I have since returned it and did not get a refund on the shipping as tecnically there was nothing wrong with it. Again, I think the above photo is very deceptive.
Summary: You get what you pay for. It does work and it is technically a flatscreen but it is NOT a "thin" flat screen. I was looking to increase the space around my desk and the price was cheap but I would've certainly shelled more money out for a "real" flatscreen monitor. That was what I wanted in the first place. The picture of this item is deceiving and gave the illusion of a flatscreen but in reality, it is very bulky and weighs 40lbs.
Summary: This is probably one of the better cheap monitors around for a general purpose home pc. I found it a breeze to put together and install with the CD being easy to follow. It also has good quality (albeit small) speakers which have an input for a subwoofer but on the downside no input for headphones. It has a glare prevention coating which works pretty well too. As I got it as a freebie throw in for a cheap 2nd home pc ( a compaq) I have absolutely no complaints.
