Summary: Build Quality: The monitor stand is made out of plastic that looks and feels kinda cheap. The bezel is also made out of plastic but somehow feels better than the plastic used in the stand. Overall the build quality is good and the monitor remains steady. Screen: This monitor does not have a glossy screen. It has a matte screen which looks amazing. The colors are rich and vivid. The text is sharp and clear.
Summary: The monitor is OK. Not the best but I have had worse. Good second monitor for the price. HOWEVER, the monitor is advertised as supporting a VESA wall mount. True -- but only if you don't want to attach a video cable! The digital video connection is on the back (not the bottom) right next to the mounting holes making it certain that virtually any wall mount is going to block access to the connector. Who at HP thought that was a good idea?
Summary: i got this monitor on a deal from ebay for $100 a couple months ago. i have it hooked up to my laptop via HDMI to DVI cable and it's been very good so far. i use it to read textbooks and other books as the screen on my laptop isn't that sharp (1366 * 768 pixels) and is only 15.6 inches compared to 23 inches on this monitor. movies and such look great on it.
Summary: Rec'd but did not open, because away in Florida. Did open yesterday, screen was all lines in every direction with large purple solid thick lines on one side with purple like grapes hanging off the purple line. Only picture was a small clear square in upper left of screen, the rest was all bright lines and squares. Tried install disk on auto install all it did was change line colors. Decided to try on an other of my computers same problem.
