Very nice monitor

David Brukman, Amazon
13 December 2013
  • Summary: After almost 6 years, this monitor is still going strong. It has several times started showing a strange picture with red vertical lines; luckily it can be fixed by power cycling. Has not done so in the last 6 months -- knock wood. I am taking one star off for that.

  • Pros: This is a nice monitor for for general computer use. I've had this monitor for a year and it's still working smoothly.
  • Cons: The one thing I'd warn everyone is that this Monitor's native resolution is too high for xbox/ps3, etc. So if you try to play a gaming system on this monitor expecting it to display at 1080, it won't happen. So if you want a monitor you can use for general computer use and console, you better cho...

Impressive Monitor

RAMON L., Newegg
11 July 2010
  • Summary: You must use it with a Dual DVI capable Video card; the one I selected, EVGA 01G-P3-N959-TR; worked perfectly, easy setup. 1MB on-board memory.
  • Pros: Excellent sharpness and clarity. Comes with high-quality DVI cables (2) Finish is nice. Stand easy to adjust, substantial base to support this large monitor.
  • Cons: I always want things to cost less, but I think you often get what you pay for and this is one of those instances.

Great monitor, a few minor issues

Michael M., Newegg
28 January 2010
  • Summary: Despite the absence of an OCD some basic control is available without going through software "+" and "-" buttons near "Power" and "input" control the screen brightness. In some of the other comments, there seems to be some confusion concerning whether this screen supports HDCP. It does.
  • Pros: 2560x1600 :-D No bad pixels or other obviouse flaws It is HUGE! I LOVE this screen, it has a few minor issues, see below, but they are all really easy to address.
  • Cons: Your video card must have 2 DVI ports, and of course be able to support the resolution. I'm using a 1GB EVGA made card with the NVIDIA 260 chip-set... that works fine. Sometimes, during the Windows 7 boot process, the screen goes blank for no apparent reason... it will remain this way until I pre...

User Review

Burlen L., Newegg
9 January 2010
  • Summary: In truth I have been spoiled by my former viewsonic VA2626wm which is very bright and extremely uniform across the 26" screen area. However, I've convinced myself that the higher res, color and quality of construction of the HP LP3065 make up for the color/brightness non-uniformity across the screen...
  • Pros: color sharpness & resolution are excellent. The height adjustment is counter balanced so that very small force can be used to position the height.
  • Cons: The brightness depends quite a bit on the view angle. So much so that if you are sitting closer than 24" to the monitor when the monitor is at 90 degree angle to the table top and at its lowest height setting the brightness varies quite noticeably from the center of the screen to the bottom edge....

No regrets

Anonymous, Newegg
15 October 2009
  • Summary: I was using a 21" CRT at 1600 x 1200. Text size on this monitor is exactly the same as my CRT, but sharper, so I got no complaints on text size. I adjusted the colors using the nVidia control panel. I dropped the Digital vibrance to 45, and red channel brightness to 47.
  • Pros: Big. Relatively inexpensive. Big. Good quality stand. Came with two of the difficult-to-find dual link DVI cable. Big! Pretty good colors. Zero dead pixels. Let's see...what else...oh yeah...it's really big!
  • Cons: No hardware calibration. anti-glare coating is noticable when trying to examine fine detail in images. Maybe a bit too bright. Uses as much electricity as, and sometimes more than, my 21" CRT. Had to buy a new video card, but that was only forty bucks for a Sparkle 9400GT with 1GB of RAM and pass...

Great picture but it comes with a couple of quirks

James Jensen "Shagnasty", Amazon
9 July 2009
  • Summary: This is an excellent monitor. The native resolution for the LP3065 is 2560 x 1600 pixels. Straight out of the box, the picture quality is top-notch. I have mine set up to show the highest possible color depth, and the results are impressive.

Follow-up on "Inconsistent white"

Carter S., Newegg
17 June 2009
  • Summary: HP or Newegg should make it clear that this is a business product. The consumer one is the LP3065c. There is huge difference in customer service between the divisions. Call HP business for support - they don't make it obvious when you dial the support number because monitors are not mentioned under...
  • Pros: Lots of screen resolution.
  • Cons: Small text - hard to read sometimes. Following up on my color issues, I finally got a hold of HP Business and they shipped me a couple replacement monitors. HP told me that and HP tech would deliver, install and remove the old one. Ha! The first one came via "DHL". Actually, it looked like the cl...

Inconsistent white

Carter S., Newegg
8 June 2009
  • Summary: I've spent 2 hours with HP support trying to determine if the color issues are a defect, or normal. I'm getting a replacement. I hope it is better than the one I have.
  • Pros: Huge, more screen space than my dual 19" setup had. Nice colors, great saturation. Colors pop off the screen.
  • Cons: I noticed that white appears slightly greyish at the top half, and slightly yellowish towards the right corner. Took me a day to notice, so it isn't terribly obvious. Tech support is in Id*a - takes forever to resolve issues.

User Review

Corbin K., Newegg
7 May 2009
  • Summary: I've read that this monitor has HDCP, but I haven't tried it yet. The screen size and having all that space is amazing. Specs say it's an S-IPS panel and you can tell. Viewing angle allows you to see the whole screen without having the brightness, gradients, or color change when you shift in your...
  • Pros: 30" monitor with 2560x1600 max resolution. 4 additional USB inputs. 3 dual link DVI inputs for multiple computers.
  • Cons: You can only adjust the brightness on the monitor unless you have calibration software or the software provided by your video card manufacture. No HDMI Input.
