Used & Abused - Not Refurbished

Mr. C., Newegg
18 April 2015
  • Summary: If you're using this as an occasional use, back-room monitor that no one will see it is probably suitable for that purpose. Otherwise the quality of the "refurbishment" is so poor that it is unsuitable for any situation where it will be visible.
  • Pros: Comes on when plugged in, picture quality is ok, tilt-swivel- height adjusting stand is awesome
  • Cons: Power button doesn't work - can't turn on/off, but it does come on when plugged in. Filthy! Like "used on an outdoor construction site" filthy! Had a layer of "mud" across the entire screen surface. Looks like someone made a very poor attempt to wipe it down and just smeared dirt across the scree...

Looked good at first

Anonymous, Newegg
7 April 2015
  • Summary: Normally refrub stuff is good, still time I wasted $100.
  • Pros: It lights up and does all functions you would expect. Except... See Cons
  • Cons: After a few days it good dim, dim dim. It is about 1/2 as bright as my other monitors on the system. I even changed out video cards and it doesn't help. Also changed the video input type, still dim and on the GREEN color side.

not impressed with refurb

Adam W., Newegg
4 March 2015
  • Pros: The second refurbished monitor I received has a functioning power button. The bezel was damaged around the buttons but all appeared to work properly.
  • Cons: The first refurbished monitor I received had a broken power button. The RMA process was straightforward, although the queue was almost an hour. This particular monitor has a base that clicks into place and no instructions on how to fold it again. This made sending the monitor back confusing and d...

Disappointing...

John S., Newegg
9 January 2015
  • Summary: I bought these for $75 ea and got the 1 year replacement warranty. Unfortunately, I've only had a 33% success rate wrt satisfactory condition and performance of the unit. So..., as much as I hate to say it..., unless you like wasting time, these refurbs are probably not worth the trouble.
  • Pros: I ordered two of these. One was an excellent value w/ slight cosmetic damage but a really bright and sharp display. See "cons" regarding the other one(s).
  • Cons: ..., and the other one had significant damage to the frame in the area of the power switch, rendering it almost inoperable. Once I got it to power on and stay on, the display was much dimmer than the other, w/ a yellowish hue. I returned this one and its replacement has just arrived. No cosmetic ...

Refurbished HP LA2205wg

Daryl D., Newegg
29 May 2014
  • Summary: you always take a chance on refurbished. if you are not good at fixing minor issues I would not. I am so it worked for me.
  • Pros: Nice Monitor for the Price
  • Cons: Refurbished is hardly a word I would use, the buttons have minor damage around the on/off button. I had to fix this myself. Beware of this seller
