Summary: This monitor was good for about 1 year, and then dead pix appears. When it's turned on for longer than 3 mins, the dead pix grows and lines across the screen appears. NOTE: no physical damages whatever on the screen.
Summary: Monitor worked great for a year and 3months until a white line appear across the bottom of the screen. According to what I have found on the internet this is a defect and may be the start of the monitor LCD failing. Of course the warranty is only of year. The other thing I did care was the advertising stickers that covered the sides of the monitor when I got it. I never was able to get all of the glue off. Disappointing on both counts.
Summary: This monitor is huge and the glossy screen gives rich deep colors especially during movies. However there are a few drawbacks 1. the screen has a buzz/hum 2. the screen has an aqua green/blue tint that i think maybe caused by the glossy screen material 3. the pixels are so big that the screen just doesn't seem sharp/crisp. 4. two dead pixels out of box. Overall the odd tint, which is clearly obvious when comparing to my old 24" acer, is why I will be returning it.
Summary: Great monitor until after about 5 months I got a bright red pixel stuck on right in the middle of the screen. I'm going to contact HP and see if they will do an exchange. Edit 6/29/11: HP customer service was excellent. They replaced the monitor for free. My refurbished monitor has been working good. Hopefully I don't have the same problem in a few months.
Summary: Mine had no sticky residue on it what so ever. So I think they solved this issue. I have it hooked up to a macbook pro and am very happy. Next to it I have my old 19" monitor rotated and it fits perfectly. The monitor is bright, once it was calibrated the colors seem to be great. The main reason I got this is my eyes are not what they used to be, and this beast sits on my desk, running at 1920x1080 about 27-28" from my face.
