Summary: The Monitor works great with a beautiful picture. I am happy with the unit. Only one issue bothers me. The monitor was sold as new but not in original packaging . However the display diagnostic menu says that the back light hours of use are 12,333. This is not new!. In fact that is over 3 years of use on the back light system at using 8 hours per day. That is plain and simple false advertising!!!!! I hope it does not fail soon.
Summary: I would give the product an A, but the minds that put out this monitor cannot be graduates. HP sells this incredible HD monitor, but make the user remove the label on the top of the product. I used mineral oil, got it all over the screen, got residue all over the screen, and was lucky to not of scratched the screen. It's unfathomable to believe HP would not apply a removal sticker. I was so upside down, I give a 3 so HP wakes up and fixes this incredible error.
Summary: Matching monitors might be more of a challenge than anticipated. Didn't give much thought to the fact that the color and white balance differences would bug me, but after spending a couple of hours trying to match them, including use of the computer's calibration setting, I gave up. Even tried giving myself a couple of days to acclimate, but ended up returning it. The one hidden cost of shopping online then became a realization...return shipping costs.
Summary: to anyone who is considering the purchase of the 27" hp monitor 2709m , when i recieved the monitor i was very excited to finally be able to see everything in my new flight simulator program with a realistic perspective, but after using the monitor for a day i noticed that there was something on the screen, but after trying to wipe the screen off i saw that there was several dots on it.
Summary: Got this as a gift. It's a pretty monitor with great adjustment features. However, I ultimately returned it. Admittedly it was a rushed decision, since I didn't want grief at the return counter. My objections were that I couldn't get the colors quite right, but most problematic was the glare. I could see my reflection (and that of the room around me) in various solid fields of my computer display.
so far, decent quality... but resolution is too low for the size

Summary: A little pricy, but hopefully, better built and more reliable than others at this size. Only time will tell. Also, for the price I would have liked to see a higher top resolution than 1920 x 1080. Again, at this size, that resolution is not that great for an LCD. I probably would have been just as happy with this resolution in a 24" or a 25" considering the huge difference in price.
Summary: The 2709m is a huge display ... but know what's it best suited for before you buy it. With a 1920x1080 resolution on a 27" screen, you need to be sitting back pretty far from this (ie: more than a typical desk offers in terms of real estate). So, if you are looking for a display to connect to a PC that you're using mainly for multimedia or gaming and can sit more than a couple of feet back, this is not a bad choice.
