3 months out of warranty, 27" monitor has a horizontal white line

Summary: Purchased this in Spring of 2010 and have been pleased with the image. A thin white line appeared last night across the middle of the screen. Not the laptop or the video card (tried another monitor and HDMI cable). Called HP and "sorry, out of warranty." They would be happy to sell me another 27" monitor with a $90 rebate and special deal on their extended warranty. Turns out the monitor is cheaper than their special deal on Amazon AND on their own site.
Summary: This is a large monitor. It also has a very impressive NTSC gamut coverage. It is not, however, usable for video or image editing as it has very limited angle of view for a computer monitor. If you are sitting closer than 3 or 4 feet image brightness and color shift significantly from corner to corner and side to side, which makes it really hard to evaluate color reproduction.
Summary: The HP 2709m monitor detailed specs on the HP site report there are two HDMI connectors. This is not true: there is only one HDMI connector and cable. I called HP. At first they claimed the specs say only one HDMI, but after looking at the PDF specs, they asked me to call Amazon. The monitor looks nice. The specs say it has one VGA, one DVI and two HDMI. It only has one HDMI. The screen resolution is unpredictable.
