Summary: I own two of these monitors and have them configured as dual displays in my office. One was manufactured in SEP 2009 and the other other in MAR 2010. So one has been in service for more than six years and the other is not far behind that. I've never had any issues with either monitor.
How sturdy is the inside display when the outside protective cover develops cracks?

Summary: Bought January 16, 2013 (from Amazon), and really liked the monitor. However, two days ago when booting up discovered that there were 6 lines up and down and more or less evenly spaced on the screen - never reached the top or bottom. It shouldn't have done that.
Summary: This was a great monitor for a couple of years, then it died. I'll elaborate on what "died" means: in my case (and what seems to be the case with most of these) the inverter board went out. That's what turns the backlights on.
Pros: Looks great, works great until premature death.
Cons: Died after just a couple of years, like most other people said.
Summary: I will definitely stick with Samsung monitor from now on. Minus one egg for not being reliable.
Pros: Nice color contrast, picture, somewhat design, price...3ms GTG...full 1080P HD Had this monitor for one and a half year.
Cons: Just died...so sad. It did a little flickering on the screen this morning with some strange noise like it's about to blow a fuse. Then died an hour after. My Samsung 22" monitor outlast this one by over a year and still breathing. What the h*ll HP...I gave you a chance.
Great monitor until long stretches of flickering started

Summary: Won't be buying HP products ever again.
Pros: It was a great monitor for almost 2 years.
Cons: Same as many other reviewers. After 22 months it started flickering for a few seconds. After 23 months it flickers for up to 10 minutes before it goes away. I pretty much get home from work, turn the PC and monitor on, and come back in 10 minutes to start using it. :P Checked the cables, drivers ...
Summary: Never again will I purchase an HP product, or recommend anything they sale. Lost a customer for life.
Pros: It lasted for maybe 3 months before I started having problems with it.
Cons: Customer Support requires you to wait for a call back to setup an replacement. I waited for 2 weeks the first time. The second time they were suppose to call me back to setup the payment. I never received the call and after a month of waiting I called them and they said it was out of warranty.
