Summary: I would definitely buy this if you are looking for an amazing monitor at a relatively low price.
Pros: This monitor is fantastic. Everything I see is crystal clear, and vivid. No dead pixels as of over 2 months, I believe. The screen is pretty darn big, and since I used to have a netbook before a desktop with this monitor, I can't use any screen smaller than this anymore. This one just defeats all.
Cons: Some games don't use 1440x900, but only a very small amount. Built-in speakers are terrible, but I use Bose ones anyway.
Summary: I notice this monitor plastic casing on the bottom backside has the word DVI printed on it where the port connections are, but no DVI port is there. Only thing I figure is this monitor is some sort of remake or custom build from an older design from years ago.
Pros: No dead pixels, pretty reasonable size screen, has been working fine since August of 2010 (last year), Screen is clear, Vivid colors, good for gaming, watching movies.
Cons: No DVI port, only 16.2 million color scale (most monitors have 16.7 million), Active Matrix is older technology.
Pros: I've had this monitor for slightly < 3 years and it is now serving as my secondary display. Not a single dead pixel, and I've never had any problems at all with it. If you're hesitant about buying it because it's not an acer or asus, just do it.
