Summary: Get an extra square trade warranty if you dare buy these monitors.
Pros: nice while working 2 out of 2 died in first year and had to be returned for warranty repair.
Cons: horribly slow RMA process. 7 weeks in now waiting on warranty repair to be returned. emails are unanswered. calls only promise email update that never comes. they still are trying to get out of honoring the full 3 year warranty
Summary: The warranty says it's 3 years, the fine print tells you it's only 1 year on the screen itself. I've had this monitor for 16 months and the screen is now failing. Hanns.G tells me I'm out of luck. Hanns.G customer service is a joke. They left me on hold for long periods of time, then asked me to replace the monitor cable and connect the monitor to a different computer.
Nice while they work, don't throw away your packaging

Summary: The warranty is 3 years parts and labor but only 1 year on the display panel and LED backlight. I was told twice the 2nd failed unit was out of warranty when I called although the problem was most likely not with the display panel or backlight but with the power supply. Good thing I kept may original packaging and all paperwork/warranty docs were still in the box. I have two Hanns-g 19" LCD monitors purchased in 2006 that still are going strong with no issues ever.
Pros: Great display, no dead pixels on the two I purchased. I have a 27" dell monitor that cost 4 times as much as these sitting beside them and they are an exact match with the Hanns-g in the Warm color setting. Warm is almost a required setting if you use Outlook 2013 with its crazy bright window.
Cons: 2 out of 2 of these monitors died the exact same way - turned off and would not turn back on - no LED power light. One died 6 months old and the other died exactly 367 days after purchase but 364 days after they were delivered. Second RMA in process now which prompted this review. Summary: Over a year in and it is just as good as day one. I can't bring myself to knock a star off for the lit up blacks. It's a fundamental issue of LCD screens. This isn't a thousand dollar 4k monitor, it's a quality, high value screen. They don't sacrifice any other aspects for the size.
Pros: Plenty bright and a matte screen makes it easy to see any time of day. The color accuracy is astounding after my previous list of sub-par monitors. Contrast is good; I haven't come across any scenes that are too dark for me to see clearly. The screen is MASSIVE.
Cons: No "smart" features (autodimming would be nice). The blacks could be darker, especially around the edges. It doesn't interfere with seeing anything, just a minor annoyance. Every other computer screen looks tiny.
Cons: Shipped in a store box, lucky it wasn't in pieces. After a few months light started leaking into the background at the lower right side. Now it's covering almost one third of the screen and in one place goes all the way across. HannsG's response was less than satisfactory, took them forever to respond with information and now they want me to ship it back to them (at my cost) so they can fix it, which they can't do anyway. It'll cost at least $ 75 to ship this $ 160 mo...
Summary: I purchased a similar Hanns.G product which became dysfunctional within the FINAL month of the three year warranty. Hanns.G completed the repair, including shipping. By completed, I mean the monitor is as good as new. I will buy Hanns.G again. Remember, 27" is a big monitor for a bedroom, if that is where you will be using it. It is fine for opening multiple application windows, games and movies.
Cons: Broke in less then a year of purchase. just black screen, green light goes on. but can't access menu to monitor or anything else. just display black. checked all cables and its just broken. Would recommend not to buy this product as though it won't last very long.
Summary: If you are thinking of buying a Hanns G product ... be advised . I have bought 2 of them new 27 inch screens . One went bad after the 3 years . Ok breaks of the game . The second I still had 2 months to go. They give a 3 year warranty ... on paper . This is the effect it had for me . The warranty service team is in India . Communication is not at a premium . They send info for request via email .
