Summary: If you are thinking of buying a Hanns G product ... be advised . I have bought 2 of them new 27 inch screens . One went bad after the 3 years . Ok breaks of the game . The second I still had 2 months to go. They give a 3 year warranty ... on paper . This is the effect it had for me . The warranty service team is in India . Communication is not at a premium . They send info for request via email .
Cons: Service dept and main corporate numbers go to India ... communication poor . Warranty request email is a black hole .
Summary: I did not take an egg away because it was clear it had no such port... it was just the only con I see. Do measure your work area. A 27" monitor is **HUGE**. I use mine primarily for videoconferencing. We use the others for normal business work with graphics and large spreadsheets.
Pros: Large and bright, good visibility in our office environment (we are happy to have windows facing N, S, E and W in various offices), reasonable price.
Summary: This is my 3rd Hanns-G monitor. This one for my wife. I've found these to be the best size and performance for the money. They hold up well and the picture is fantastic. Great response time and out of 3 monitors I've had 0 dead pixel issues that I've seen plague many monitors even on first power up. Speaking as a gamer these have fantastic performance for demanding games where motion tearing can be a problem on discount displays.
Summary: The phone number listed for support doesn't follow the operating hours listed on the Hanns-G website. Also, I sent an inquiry to the email address provided on their website for warranty related issues, and after several days haven't received a response back. My warranty is almost up, and I can't get anyone to actually honor it.
Pros: Nice and big, and a decent picture. Great for gaming and streaming.
Cons: Has some quality issues, such as wavy sections and lines in my screen.
Summary: I wish I had gotten a higher resolution display, everything seems a lot bigger compared to my Acer AL2216W which is 22'' @ 1680x1050 (which I love that resolution) I thought my old screen was still just fine, I was greedy and upgraded.
Pros: Very Bright Very Big Picture Quality is great Stand works just fine, remove the screw in the bottom, attach stand, then put the screw back in through both pieces. Very simple, although the instructions dont make it clear. HDMI is a nice bonus, Although I use DVI
Cons: Speakers, I plugged them in for ish and gigs (my computer speakers are an HK 3490 with 2 Polk Monitor 70's and a PSW505 woofer) They sound EXACTLY like my headphones...if you put them down on the table and turned the computer volume to 400%. I did not buy for speakers at all.
Summary: Don't listen to people who say the base is very unstable. That's THEIR fault, not the fault of the product. If they had followed simple directions and used some common sense, they wouldn't have had the problem. When you get the monitor(s) the base is separate from the neck. There are obvious places where it clips on. Where people are messing up is not removing the screw from the bottom of the neck, then putting the base on, then securing the base with that screw.
Pros: Very bright! No dead/stuck pixels. I actually had to turn the brightness down to 65%. Great image and tons of space for me to work / game on. I bought two of these to replace my 22" dual monitor setup and I couldn't be happier
Summary: The price alone made this a must buy for me. I upgraded from a 17 inch monitor to this 27 inch. HUGE difference. The speakers are really lame. Not sure why they would even have them on this monitor. The video alone would have made it a 5 star, but the speakers! Ugh.
Pros: The picture is really good.
Cons: The sound on this is horrible. I have the volume maxed out and can barely hear the sound from 3 feet away.
