Very Nice.

Eric D., Newegg
18 January 2009
  • Summary: I first purchased this Monitor when it was Marked down to $999.00. When it arrived there was Blue pixelation across dark color gradients and green pixelation across light color gradients. Then I started receiving the infamous blackout problem.
  • Pros: *Massive Resolution *Large amount of inputs *Sturdy Stand -Smooth swiveling *Speaker Bar *2 Side USB Ports *Awesome Newegg customer support
  • Cons: *The height of the stand is not adjustable. *Poor Gateway customer support *Having to reset the menu if power is unplugged *Touch buttons on the side are fineky

Fantastic Monitor

Anonymous, Newegg
18 January 2009
  • Summary: This is as close to perfection as a monitor can get.
  • Pros: Fantastic color, makes working with photos and video very easy, plenty of room for open windows. DVDs look great as well as games, HD game trailers, etc. I replaced the best 21" tube monitor I've ever used (Nokia 445X Pro) and gained 2.5' of desk space and lost 75lbs of hardware. I couldn't be ha...
  • Cons: After 2 months I can't think of a con.

Follow up review

Michael L., Newegg
1 January 2009
  • Summary: Since my original review on this monitor I have purchased two more for a triple display setup. I've owned the first XHD3000 for about 10 month at this point. I am still extremely happy with this monitor. It has performed almost flawlessly. With the price drops this is still the 30" to own.
  • Pros: -No bleedthrough. -Great color despite comparably "narrow" 72% color gamut. -Solid blacks that do not drown detail in darker areas of the picture. -Wide array of inputs including HDMI and component. - Included speaker bar. - Fast response does away with ghosting during action games and/or movies....
  • Cons: -Each time the unit is powered off completely the monitor makes you choose region and language again. To wit, all Gateway monitors are like this at the moment. -Wish it had at least one more HDMI input. A receiver that does HDMI switching is a good workaround for this minor flaw. -It takes a good...

Love this Monitor

Andrew U., Newegg
13 December 2008
  • Summary: I sat for hours and watched youtube reviews, read countless websites, and deliberated on other 30" screens. At the end this one offered everything I was looking for with all of my gaming systems and computers. I took the plunge and could not be happier!
  • Pros: Crystal Clear, Not too big and not too small, Have my gaming rig, laptop, xbox 360 and PS3 hooked up and they all run awesome. The lag is not bad at all with non native resolution and gone at native resolution. For the record, the response time for gaming at non native resolution is quicker and m...
  • Cons: I bought it from a different retailer...I love newegg, but found a better deal, sorry guys :( I do get the "Blackout," issue every now and then but it is not frequent and actually seems like the screen is recalibrating...its like switching your input source from dvi to hdmi back to dvi really qui...

  • Summary: EVGA 790i Ultra / QX9605@4GHz Freezone Elite / Two GTX280s / 300Gb VelociRaptor, WD 750Gb / 8Gbs DDR3 Patriot Extreme Performance / 1200W Silverstone / Lian Li PC-A7010
  • Pros: Great monitor, I never had any of the black outs that people have talked about. This 30inch has been working fine since day one, and I am extremely happy with it.
  • Cons: Price, $1000 would be a very fair price

Still great

Matthew T., Newegg
10 November 2008
  • Summary: I am buying a second one the second I get a new video card capable of handling 2 of these bad boys in horizontal span.
  • Pros: I have had this monitor for a year now and it has been amazing the entire time. Picture quality still superb, pixels all there still, and the blackout issue is just a warmup blink after the monitor being on for 1-2 minutes. I have never been happier with a monitor and I have owned many LCDs. The ...
  • Cons: The metal under the screen started to peel in one corner near the remote sensor. I have no idea why this is becuase I never touch that area nor do I move my monitor. But not at all a big deal.
