Summary: ***UPDATE WITH FIX*** I found this site: [...] - it tells you exactly how to fix it and it just worked for me. There are two issues 1) colored or white banding and 2) green tint and flicker. They have different fixes, and mine was the banding - I was able to reseat the cables for the monitor and all is working fine again in under an hour. ------------------------------ 6" vertical colored line banding going down center of monitor. Unusable.
Summary: I've had my HDX3000 for about two years before it became a strobe light with a 5 inch green band. Not happy. It's unbelievable how many people have the same issue. Gateway is not standing by their product. Pulling all personal and corporate accounts out of Gateway and recommend everyone does likewise.
Summary: Display was great when I first bought it with a sharp picture but like other reviews, it crapped out in about a year and a half with a half dark screen, lines and other strange artifacts. Do not buy this monitor.
Great Monitor when it works, gateway will shaft you

Summary: This was a great monitor, but after a year or so started flickering and gateway would not help what so ever. They blamed me for the problems and they actually returned it to me more damaged than when I had sent it. They blamed that on me as well, after I had sent it back for the 3rd time. I will never buy gateway again and I tell everyone that asks how much to avoid gateway. I'm in the computer business and they are pretty much the worst people you can deal with, period.
Summary: Never have I experienced a less reliable LCD monitor. I'm so disappointed. The reviews of this monitor were so glowing when it first came out, and I was excited to be able to get a monitor with all its features. I justified the high price by figuring that it'd easily outlive my PC and I'd probably get 6-10 years out of it. Well here it is a year and half later and I'm getting the same flickering and green smearing others are reporting.
Summary: Its funny to go through the same path that others have walked for years without knowning it. 1 year and 9 days after I purchased my monitor, it starts flickering horribly. When i turn it off for a period of time it works for a few minutes then starts back up. This thread wants me to chuck it out the window, but I cant make myself not follow up with gateway. My hopes arent very high right now...
PERFECT until 1 Year & 6 Months of use... then FLICKERING!

Summary: Ugh! I never believed this could happen to me but (like the others before me), this Monitor began flickering after 18 Months of PERFECT service. Does Gateway build in a destruct timer? I am now sure of it! Bottom Line: If you want a short-term Monitor, then buy it (its great when it works). If you do not want to buy a new Monitor after 18 months..then DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! In conclusion.. SHAME ON YOU GATEWAY. YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE !!!
Summary: The best monitor in the world for about 2 years. Then it died. The image degraded on all inputs to a green tint. Customer support is beyond inept and incomprehensible. Never buying anything from Gateway again. They are bankrupt! On September 4, 2007 Gateway announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to sell its professional business segment to MPC Corporation. This includes the company's Nashville-based configuration center.
Summary: I too purchased this monitor and absolutely loved it. After 1 year and 3 months I had a 6 inch wide stripe of multi-colored vertical lines in the middle of the screen. I called Gateway; Out of warranty; too bad for me. Talked to gateway via live chat to get the phone number for their tech support operation in Texas. Believe it or not I was told I could NOT have the phone number. What incredibly bad service on a $1,700 product or any product.
