gateway HX2000 LCD monitor shows no VGA signal. Screen goes off

I want to use the Gateway HX2000 LCD monitor with my compaq computer. Do I need a driver to do this. Where can I get the driver for it if I need that? I have tried downloads but have not had success trying to do that. Who can help me with this. Clyde. oldasdirt@att.net
