Summary: This monitor isn't the best out there, but don't let this stop you from buying it...if there are any more left on the planet. I did a boat load of monitor research and this one rated fairly well for the price ($160-180) given that it uses old display technology. But, I was looking to spend less than $200 for a 24in LED with an incredible picture and great response time, which is a lot to ask for, and this monitor has them all. Now the bad news.
Summary: I bought this item in Feb'2012. After 10 months of use, I was fairly content with it. It's very bright. The display is crisp and clear. Unfortunately, I ran into problems this month after I upgraded my desktop to Windows 8. There are no Windows 8 drivers for the Gateway FHD2303L monitor. Many days, my desktop does not recognized the monitor and I'm left with a blank screen.
Summary: Great monitor, received promptly, replaced my GW 20". now a spare, was up amd running in less that 5 minutes. Excellent product, very happy with supplier and product that exceeded expectations.
Summary: This monitor is crap. The cantilevered stand does not work; it causes the monitor to have a distinct tilt. The cheap plastic molding around the screen fits poorly and looks worse. The monitor itself produces a reasonably nice picture, though the colors are overly bright. However the screen seems flimsy and I'd expect it to burn out quickly. I'm returning it. One more note, I see the current seller is Tiger Direct.
Summary: Well for the price you simply can not go wrong with this monitor, I personally bought it to compliment my Gateway DX4860 Desktop Computer as it does. It isn't the best monitor on the market but it gets the job done, for the price I would purchase another.
