Excerpt: Purchased 3 of these DELLS to replace my aging fleet of 5 Samsung 305Ts. I use these 30 inchers primarily for NVIDIA surround gaming. I have these paired to a high end PC set up. First of all, I love these DELLs for the bright and sharp colors they produce. Although advertised as having 6ms G to G pixel time, I notice some significant ghosting compared to my old Samsungs.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Excerpt: I got this one after searching for good and not absurd costly monitor for the new Mac Pro. It was not easy to make it work fine. First issue I found was the position of the ports, under the monitor. Not an easy access and really hard to see what you are doing. I first connect the cables wrong because of that. By the way, Mac users can use the DP /MDP cable. TB port on the Mac will recognize the MDP with no problem. Just make sure you plug it on input, not output.
Summary: Ordered it from Amazon March 16, 2014 and received it the 18th. It is Revision A3 and works very well, as advertised. Why four and not 5 stars? If you are a professional who needs accurate color, it needs to be calibrated. The color and luminescence are way off, and while it is true that calibration is a must with any monitor, older calibrators will not work with this model because of the type of panel it is.
Excerpt: Decent monitor. My only issue so far is trying to get plain text as readable as possible when using full 2560x1600. I suspect I just need to keep playing around with the color and other settings.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Vivid Colors
Summary: This is a GREAT monitor. The color and the crispness and CRAZY good. When I first plugged it in it was a little tricky. It used some kind of stealth mode to report it was running the correct resolution, but it was not. If you went into the menu on the monitor it showed you it was running at 1/2 the real resolution. I had to use a different connection, my dual DVI output on my video card would not run full resolution at the correct refresh rate.
Summary: Always use Dell, from 21, to 24, now to 30. It's a bit overwhelming, so you might want to try the 27", but if size is what you need, then this is it. 2560 x 1600 resolution gives you a taller screen, the button are better organized compared to the old dell 24". In order for dell to honor the warranty, the ownership needs to be transferred, not just the registration. Otherwise you'll lose the warranty.
Excerpt: I use this monitor mainly for image editing and I purchased based on reviews and the fact it is a 16: 10 vs. 16: 9 ratio. I am more than satisfied with the mornitor. Quirks and/or I am/was too stupid to figure out: 1) Nothing in the literature describes how to adjust the height. Just pust it down and it is self adjusting...duh.. it took me some tome to figure this one out.
Default settings do not work with a Macbook Pro Retina, but problem can be fixed.

Summary: The monitor is pretty good, but it had three issues. The big issue turned out to be fixable but was a big headache for me for several days. I was able to fix only one of the small issues, but luckily the unfixed small issue is not a problem. The big issue: my aim was to use this monitor with my Macbook Pro Retina 15". I was able to easily connect the monitor, but the display was exceedingly "ugly". The fonts were atrocious.
