Summary: The U3011 exhibited a small amount of noise in suits, faces, and background signs. This, and the fact that the monitor can’t swivel to portrait mode, are enough to deny it a Kick Ass award. We didn’t encounter any issues or flaws while playing games, though. All in all, Dell has produced a fine display with a very reasonable price tag.

Summary: Anyone who spends more than a couple of hours a day in front of a computer will have dreamt of owning a 30inch monitor like Dell's U3011 at some point in their lives. Whether you're designing magazine pages, editing photos or playing World of Tanks in glorious peripheral-filling surround-o-vision, bigger screens are almost always better. That's 'better' as in more pleasant to use, with sharper text, less eye strain and a larger desktop for arranging your files on.
Excerpt: 1 Flares 1 Flares × Dell have always had a reputation for creating some of the finest monitors on the market. While they do make a wide array of panels for the mass market audience, they have always focused on the high end technology. Their U2410 has received a lot of critical acclaim, earning a top award on KitGuru, and they have also recently released the U2711, a 27 inch panel which features IPS technology.
Excerpt: Monitors don’t come much better than this, says, Juha Saarinen. Computer maker Dell has several S-IPS screens in its product range that are likely to appeal to picture people. The screens range from 22 to 30 inches diagonally, aren’t priced too hair-raisingly high and provide very good performance overall. The review unit sent to us was the new range-topping 30-inch UltraSharp U3011 that retails for $2349, a princely sum of money that luckily buys a whole lot of screen.
Pros: Superlative image quality, 10-bit colour panel, Good price
