Great monitor...Not so great software

  • Excerpt: I love this monitor. The colors are stunning and it is easy on the eyes, The best monitor for me so far. I don't like the software "Dell Display Manager at all. When I installed it, the monitor would go into Power Save and would not come back on. I used my old monitior to unistall, hooked the Dell back up and no problems. I give this monitor 5 stars for how it functions and the picture. I knock off a star for buggy sofyware.
  • Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
  • Cons: Buggy Software

Great companion for iMac 27"

  • Excerpt: We use this as a second monitor for our iMac 27". It looks pretty great, the color out of the box was right on and I dig the feature that lets you swivel it to portrait. It doesn't have the glossy glass finish like the iMac but offers an alternate view of our work since not everyone is on a mac.
  • Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Portrait Mode, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
  • Cons: None yet

Very nice monitor and fast shipping

  • Excerpt: I am using this monitor to replace a NEC 23' IPS display which stopped working after about 4 years service. This monitor is very accurate in color right out of the box. No dead pixels found. product ergonomics are good too. text is crisp and clear. I am expecting this one to last for a while (good thing is it has the three year warranty). The reason I didn't give it 5 full star is because there is know way that I could no how long this monitor would last.
  • Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors

Giddily working along

  • Excerpt: I am a motion designer and a photographer, so I use this on two fronts. On the motion design front, I am positively giddy that I can throw up a full 1080p comp and see it at full resolution with ample room for the program tools around it. (It should be noted I have a second monitor for my timeline, so I am cheating a little.) For editing photos, I am loving how crisp it seems to be, and the new level at which I feel I can work with photos.
  • Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image

very nice monitor

  • Excerpt: Urgently needed a new monitor, so picked this one up based on both online reviews and personal recommendations, in lieu of my normal systematic research. I am very happy with this display. My Dell XPS 17 (L702X) drives it via the displayport at full resolution. It's bright and crisp, and the colors are quite natural and appealing. When I first viewed some of my higher resolution photographs, I was stunned at how detailed and lifelike they looked. Text is crisp and solid.
  • Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors

Works good with Macbook Pro... so far

chwisc, Amazon
8 April 2014
  • Summary: First off, this is a beautiful monitor, and it's working fine with my MBP Retina (13", early 2013 model, SSHD). I am getting the full 2560x1440 resolution, and it is really, really nice to work with. I do a lot of graphical work (GIS) and programming, and the ability to have many windows open and visible on the screen is very handy. I have found that I can have several remote desktop sessions up on the screen tiled... very cool indeed!

Works with with new MacPro "Tube"

20 March 2014
  • Excerpt: Works well with Late 2013 MacPro "Tube" Brightness and out of the box calibration are very good. Setup could have been a tad easier. The monitor doesn't auto detect using its Display port. It initially reported no DVI found. You have to set up the monitor menu to use the Display port for the first use. It's fine after that. Needs mini display to display cable, purchased separately, to work the MacPro Thunderbolt port. Not a big issue but one should be aware of that.
  • Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
  • Cons: Display Port Detection, Needs Mini To Display

Great screen, great price

  • Excerpt: Using this with a MacBook Air. Needed a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable, and the dishes are done! (I scored the Accel version 1.2 cable and it has been reliable on both Mac and PC platforms.) Simple to unpack thanks to the instructions on the box, the packing was all cardboard, display resolution is excellent, controls are thoughtfully simple, appreciate the on-board USB ports. I sometimes bring home a PC laptop.

Discounted this is an excellent buy

P. Jackson, Amazon

  • Summary: I own the previous model, U2711 as well as this model. This screen is used via the display port connection on an Apple 27" iMac. Screen quality is excellent and was calibrated accurately. You pay extra for these models since they are calibrated for use in a photographic environment. Full price, these displays are quite expensive but the extensive discounting makes them a bargain.
