Summary: Length:: 0:19 Mins I'd strongly advise against purchasing this monitor from Dell. To be fair, I like this monitor for its stunning resolution and accurate color reproduction until the screen displayed 'vertical lines' all of a sudden out of nowhere. This may happen several times a day and may last from a few secs to a few hours. Switching on and off doesn't help. Trying the built-in diagnostics doesn't help either.
Summary: I ordered one of these monitors earlier this year and it was fantastic. High quality, great price - one of the best purchases I've ever made. I'm a graphic designer and this made me a very happy camper. It was for personal use -- but I loved the monitor so much I made my boss buy me two for work. Again, both of them were as close to perfection as you could get. This fall I decided to get a second U2713HM monitor for personal use. I was severely disappointed.
Summary: This monitor is an old revision (A00), with many known issues. When the monitor was "working", there was noticeable crosshatching and significant light bleeding around the edges. To top it all off, the monitor will randomly go into power saving mode and not return unless power cycled. I had to return this and will be buying directly from Dell.
Summary: Don't have much confidence in Dell's warranty or support. This purchase is turning out to be the purchase from hell; this was no deal.
Pros: Purchased 2 Dell Monitors. One does not have any problems.
Cons: Second monitor had dead pixels in a prominent location on screen. My 30 day return period with Newegg was up so I contacted Dell. Dell support tediously required me to wade through a bunch of tests to verify the dead pixels; took about 3 hours for the tech support person to believe that I really had dead pixels. Summary: If you get this monitor without the cross-hatching (your lucky), it will be a great monitor and a buy you won't regret. Dell do make great monitors, most of the times....
Pros: As usual, Dell give you a good setup of cables with the monitor. It's pre calibrated from factory and is ready to go when you get it. The monitor had good colors and brightness as usual from Dell UltraSharp monitors. But that is about it this time.
Cons: Before this monitor, I loved Dell monitors. I have owned a Dell u2711 that I loved and I have friends that also love there Dell monitors in the UltraSharp series. But this monitor changed all that for me, or at least I won't go for the cheaper UltraSharp versions next time.
Strongly advise against buying this model from Amazon at the moment

Summary: I bought this monitor a week ago and am experiencing the same backlight bleeding and cross-hatch effect that other customers have reported. Based on what a Dell customer rep just told me, I'd advise against buying this monitor from Amazon until Amazon gets new models for which at least the backlight issue has (allegedly) been fixed. Summary: Overall this is an awesome monitor, colors are fantastic, resolution is amazing. I had zero dead pixels when I purchased it. On the first night of use there was a little image retention, but that went away by the second day. On the second day of using though, I decided to watch a movie and that's where I could see horrible backlight bleed. Lower left corner is yellow, and lower right corner is white. Top right corner was okay, but the upper left was also yellowed out.
Summary: I bought this monitor based on many reviews that I had read proclaiming how awesome it was. However, after a mere 24 hours I found out that there was one small thing people neglected to say. This monitor suffers from severe image retention (burn in). After just 20 minutes on any page with white on it (outlook, blog posts, etc.) the image is burned in.
Summary: No issues with Amazon. In fact they sent them our very quickly and their customer service has been amazing during my ordeal with this monitor. My issues are with Dell. I purchased two of these monitors from Amazon. One of them had back light bleeding issues and the other had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I contacted Dell in order to use my warranty and they happily sent me two monitors in exchange.
