Summary: It worked well for a year then stopped. Now it always enter PowerSave Mode as soon as I connect it. Issue well known by Dell. I have reset it to factory settings many times (through a Dell rep's post on a forum, by pressing down the power button for 10 secs while unpowered), no improvement. Some issue with the hardware/ firmware reset. I am connecting it to my macbookpro through a mini DisplayPort cable to Diplay port cable.
Summary: Length:: 0:19 Mins I'd strongly advise against purchasing this monitor from Dell. To be fair, I like this monitor for its stunning resolution and accurate color reproduction until the screen displayed 'vertical lines' all of a sudden out of nowhere. This may happen several times a day and may last from a few secs to a few hours. Switching on and off doesn't help. Trying the built-in diagnostics doesn't help either.
Summary: This monitor is an old revision (A00), with many known issues. When the monitor was "working", there was noticeable crosshatching and significant light bleeding around the edges. To top it all off, the monitor will randomly go into power saving mode and not return unless power cycled. I had to return this and will be buying directly from Dell.
Summary: Overall this is an awesome monitor, colors are fantastic, resolution is amazing. I had zero dead pixels when I purchased it. On the first night of use there was a little image retention, but that went away by the second day. On the second day of using though, I decided to watch a movie and that's where I could see horrible backlight bleed. Lower left corner is yellow, and lower right corner is white. Top right corner was okay, but the upper left was also yellowed out.
Summary: I bought this monitor based on many reviews that I had read proclaiming how awesome it was. However, after a mere 24 hours I found out that there was one small thing people neglected to say. This monitor suffers from severe image retention (burn in). After just 20 minutes on any page with white on it (outlook, blog posts, etc.) the image is burned in.
Summary: The first one, after about 6 months of use, the panel inside the monitor starts to slide down, and there was a clear gap at the top and some pixels on the bottom became hidden behind the monitor's frame. Dell folks replaced it with a "new" refurbished monitor, as in warranty (I live in HK). When I turned on the replacement, I immediately noticed that it had the same problem.
Pros: This is a great monitor ONLY WHEN it's working as it should. Great color, sharp pixels, doesn't have the grainy coating that older 27" DELL monitor had, lots of input options, great value etc, BUT..
Cons: From my experience, it's really poorly manufactured! I had 2 replacements within 9 months, and third one is now on the way.
Summary: As others have warned, my monitor has serious backlight bleed on the bottom left corner. It almost looks yellow at times. I hate sending stuff back, but when it's not right... it's got to go. -- UPDATE: Exchanged this monitor for another one through Amazon. While the new one has less back light bleed, now this version has an image retention problem.
Summary: I do not feel like writing very lengthy or detailed review; there a plenty user reviews that do that; i feel like it is redundant. I'll go straight to the point. I'm on the second Dell U2713HM monitor and even the second one has bad backlight bleed from the corners. I wasn't expecting this kind of issues at this price level. I intended to use it as a multimedia monitor, not necessarily as a monitor for photo edits.
Summary: All the good things everyone says about this monitor are true; it's a beautiful display. Unfortunately, this model still appears to have some *serious* quality control issues. I received one from Amazon, but it had horrible backlight bleed and discolouring. Alright, that's fine, I understand that not every display will be perfect; sometimes you get unlucky. So, I sent it back and got a replacement.
Summary: While the idea of the monitor is great and it has nice features it fails in quality. For the price you pay, you'd expect a higher quality item yet this has more issues than the rejected panels that come from third party korean sellers. Sadly I can't offer a review on its strong points as they are completely over shadowed. As common with this unit apparently is terrible backlight bleeding in the lower left corner. My first one wasn't acceptable and tried for a second.
