Huge, amazing colors, high resolution, low latency
16 January 2014
Summary: The high resolution and incredible color and depth of this monitor make it worth the large price tag. I use it with my Mac Pro for everything from web browsing to video editing with final cut pro. The low latency also makes this monitor great for gaming. The only drawbacks are that it is quite heavy and has a somewhat limited range of motion.
Great color, but the glare reduction coating is annoying

Summary: Great color, nice size. My have problems dropping the usb connections on a mac laptop. I switched it to use it with my mac tower and it's been great. The coating to reduce glare is a bit annoying, but if you don't ramp up the brightness it's less notable. If your going to use this in a brightly lit office, you'll be fine.
Summary: I purchased my Dell DU2711 refurbished here at Amazon for around $800.00 in 2010. Approximately six months later the monitor began to malfunction with thin bands of interference appearing on screen left and stretching across the screen. To say the least, I was bummed. I called the seller and there was no coverage since it was refurbished. The problem doesn't always occur and I still use the monitor. But it hasn't performed as I expected or paid for it to perform.
Summary: I looked for a LOOONNNG time for a monitor to perform how I wanted. 1st... 2 problems that you will find MUCH talked about with this monitor: a) Do not worry about the dual DVI cable that will work as Dell ships a working DVI cable with the new monitors. And you DO need that cable. A regular DVI cable will not display. b) Make sure it is the LATEST revision number. Older revs. were faulty and will have alot of the problems other people mention. I believe mine was ver.
Summary: I bought the dell to supplement my Samsung 215tw that is now 5 years old and I needed a larger work space now that my images are 21mp in size that I work with. I was looking at the 30" dell and hp but bang for the buck this monitor was a better value. I used a 42" tv to preview at print size ( ie view the image at the size prior to printing ) as the Samsung is too small to do so but the tv not accurate enough to edit on, the 27" dell just about as large as 17x22 print...
Summary: First off let me start that I am a full time CAD designer. The one thing I love about this monitor is the resolution. 2560x1440 is so unbelievably roomy. This thing has more screen real estate than any other single monitor can offer. I would absolutely not recommend this monitor for everyday computing, as you can have a real strain in your neck from panning over constantly while you're typing in Word at full screen.
Summary: I regret to agree with those that have criticized the text on this monitor. The anti Glare coating really messes with text such that it's difficult on your eyes. I have perfect vision and it really bothers me to look at text on this monitor. As for graphics/photo's this monitor is amazing. Unfortunately I use it for both. I don't think it would have been too much to ask for better text after paying so much money.
Great monitor. Tons of screen space, high resolution.

Summary: This is a great monitor with tons of screen real-estate for productivity. It's ultra high resolution makes it seem bigger than a 27" and more like a 30" monitor. Good colors and also great for watching Blu-Ray DVD's. Two small gripes I do have about the monitor are its maximum brightness, which falls short of my older NEC monitor and occasional input lag that is small but nonetheless observable.
Summary: This is great monitor with really crisp and clear colours. The USB ports really help (especially with a macbook pro with limited USB ports itself) and the range of connections including the Display Port creates a really versatile monitor great for all sorts of use.
