Summary: nice monitor really sweet i must say it has one of the most pristine pictures ive seen the resolution of this monitor at 2560 x 1600 makes all the differance and really shows very sharp images and the color contrast is amazing seriously this is top of the line monitor material so understand that when your paying the extra bucks and make sure your video card can handle it the higher resolution is not easy on a low end video card
Buy the 27" monitor and be careful who you buy it from.

Summary: I bought this monitor as I wanted as large a desktop as possible. I also wanted to have a higher resolution and larger screen for gaming as well as video and photo editing. I also have the Dell 27" WFP and after having had the chance to compare the 2 side by side, I much prefer the 27". There is too much real estate with the 30" monitor, the color imaging is not quite as good as the 27", and I prefer the slightly higher resolution of the 27" monitor.
Summary: Pros: Everything. Image is bright, colors are life-like and vivid without being overdone, text is razor sharp at native resolution, photo editing is pure joy, and the OSD controls are superfunctional and cool. Cons: Giving everyone who sees it monitor envy. Conclusion: Amazing monitor that does everything well and enhances your computing experience. If you're thinking about pulling the trigger, do it. You won't be disappointed.
Summary: Before you buy, make sure that your hardware can actually drive it at 2560x1600. The HDMI connector on this monitor maxes out at 1920x1080. So, you'll either need displayport or dual-link DVI. My quad-core Sony had HDMI 1.3, but the drivers couldn't hack it. I had to punt to a lesser Dell w/ displayport support to drive it. The monitor is fantastic. Very sharp and a welcome change for my aging eyes in spite of running it at 2560x1600.
Summary: Actually my monitor is the new U3011 model which replaced the 3008WFP model. I love this monitor!!! The size makes reading print so easy. The colors are beautiful. Images are crisp and sharp. Height-Adjustable stand, tilt, swivel and built in cable-management. I have found nothing negative about this monitor. My husband has a 3007WFP model and I fell in love with it. I've wanted one ever since he purchased his 30 inch monitor about 3 years ago.
"Dell 3008WFP biggest LCD and best value at $1,409.00 !!"
9 August 2009
Pros: The thing is HUGE with an ultra-high resolution, and I think that is what most people look to the 3008WFP for. What I was exceptionally happy with is the clarity, brightness, and the handsome design w/aluminum trim.
Cons: I waited some 6-months for the prices to come down to reality from the "new model" inflated price. At $1,699.00 retail price from Dell, I still consider it overpriced from 3007WFP 30". But I finally found deal at $1,409 from Rochester Computer.
