Excerpt: About two weeks ago I ordered the Dell 2407WFP online. I was using the 17" Samsung 710N LCD display and I was looking for a bigger LCD display. It was a though search and I wasn't really sure how big I wanted to go.
Excerpt: The most cost-effective upgrade for your PC is its monitor, and the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP ($799) is a worthy candidate for your consideration. The 24-inch 1920x1200 LCD display has some serious specs, such as a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 6ms gray-to-gray response time.
Conclusion: All in all, the 2407WFP-HC is a very impressive screen. At the time of writing, the retail price in the UK is a very attractive £447. Cheaper 24" models are beginning to emerge, but the Dell remains one of the more premium models and does not limit itself to TN Film technology as some other models...
Pros: Good colour reproduction, even at default settings. Enhanced W-CCFL backlighting offers 92% NTSC colour gamut, Excellent ergonomic and connectivity options, Good responsiveness for gaming
Cons: Black ghosting possibly a problem on current revision, Movie noise apparent to a degree, An HDMI interface would have been a nice addition
Conclusion: I have been really pleased with the time I have spent with the 2407WFP monitor, the colours are excellent, the response rate is high for gaming and the size of the screen is perfect for high definition content as well as working on the Windows desktop.
Pros: Hardly needs any configering, Excellent Colours and Response Rate, Easy to use menus, Great for high-end gaming
