Dell 2407WFP UltraSharp 24-inch LCD display

DarkVision Hardware
1 March 2007
  • Excerpt: About two weeks ago I ordered the Dell 2407WFP online. I was using the 17" Samsung 710N LCD display and I was looking for a bigger LCD display. It was a though search and I wasn't really sure how big I wanted to go. After reading some reviews online I decided to go for the Dell 2407WFP UltraSharp - a big 24" widescreen LCD display with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution capable of playing full HD video.

Widescreen PC monitor doubles as an HDTV

Consumer Electronics Net

  • Excerpt: The most cost-effective upgrade for your PC is its monitor, and the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP ($799) is a worthy candidate for your consideration. The 24-inch 1920x1200 LCD display has some serious specs, such as a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 6ms gray-to-gray response time. It's versatile, too, and does a great job as both a PC monitor and an HDTV. Plus, most graphics cards can handle its high resolution.

Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC review Review

CNET
23 October 2007
  • Summary: Dell's UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC widescreen monitor gives you tonnes of input flexibility, strong moving image quality and a handful of other features that will endear you to it as a digital entertainment display. It's not as strong as we'd like with static images, however, making this display not as well suited to demanding image and graphics professionals
  • Pros: Four-way adjustable stand, Wide array of video inputs, USB 2.0 ports and media card reader, Strong movie and game quality
  • Cons: Unintuitive onscreen display navigation, Less-than-amazing static image quality

Dell 2407WFP-HC

TFT Central
23 September 2007
  • Conclusion: All in all, the 2407WFP-HC is a very impressive screen. At the time of writing, the retail price in the UK is a very attractive £447. Cheaper 24" models are beginning to emerge, but the Dell remains one of the more premium models and does not limit itself to TN Film technology as some other models have begun to. The display really offers about everything you could want, with a huge range of ergonomic and connectivity options.
  • Pros: Good colour reproduction, even at default settings. Enhanced W-CCFL backlighting offers 92% NTSC colour gamut, Excellent ergonomic and connectivity options, Good responsiveness for gaming
  • Cons: Black ghosting possibly a problem on current revision, Movie noise apparent to a degree, An HDMI interface would have been a nice addition

Dell 2407WFP-HC

  • Summary: Dell has provided an excellent revision to its 2407 series, at an amazing price point. The only reason we can come up with not to buy it is if you desperately need 1080p over component.
  • Pros: Large screen, Great image quality, Multiple video inputs, Highly adjustable stand
  • Cons: No 1080p over component, No filtering of interlaced sources

Dell 2407WFP 24" Monitor

Active Network
16 June 2007
  • Conclusion: I have been really pleased with the time I have spent with the 2407WFP monitor, the colours are excellent, the response rate is high for gaming and the size of the screen is perfect for high definition content as well as working on the Windows desktop. Another plus is that I really liked the styling of the casing, its minimal just like Apple's monitors and leaves you just focusing on the screen itself rather than outer shine from over styled casings.
  • Pros: Hardly needs any configering, Excellent Colours and Response Rate, Easy to use menus, Great for high-end gaming
  • Cons: Very slight ghosting
