Summary: I bought this monitor for the second monitor of my dual-monitor configuration. I was looking for a monitor that could be rotated into a vertical position so I could display a whole page of information at one time without it being too small to read easily. This monitor does that very well and I am looking forward to the productivity gains I will experience because of that.
Summary: I bought the Dell 2209wa for photo editing and did not want to spend a huge amount on super high end monitors. My work load doesn't justify the extra expense. This monitor is 22" and has great colors, perfect size and price. I would recommend this monitor over the Bestbuy gaming type for low volume photo editing.
Summary: My decade-old CRT monitor had gotten to the point where it looked too dim in a pitch black room, so I figured it was time to retire it. I did a bit of shopping around, looked at reviews, and decided to go for the Viewsonic VX2250WM-LED since it was very well reviewed, a good size and very affordable. I found it at a local store as cheap as it is on Amazon, bought it, took it home and installed it.
Summary: The Premier Salesman (3rd Party) shipped the monitor in a really timely manner. Great Service. Everything arrived in good order. I am really happy with the Monitor--color is great for photos. I did have a lot of frustration using it with other programs and ended up calling Dell support. I did not realize that you have to really work on the resolution and change it for the other programs you use, such as Excel and Mail and Word, etc.
Summary: This a very good IPS monitor but it's not as good as it could've been. Because it uses IPS (in-plane switching) instead of TN (twisted nematic) technology that is so prevalent today, the 2209WA has none of the color shift problems and limited viewing angle of the much cheaper TN monitors. While it's 16:10 aspect ratio is great by giving you about an additional inch of height & about 10% more display area than a 22" 16:9 aspect ratio screen.
Summary: Considering I got this at just above half price, this is an incredible deal. This has eIPS technology, enabling amazing color reproduction and ridiculously good viewing angles compared to the average TN panel, making the portrait mode a viable option rather than the mediocre experience it is on most screens. It isn't full HD resolution, but still acceptably high for a 22 inch, and I prioritized the panel quality over the pixel count.
Summary: Photographers and designers who don't want to or can't yet spend the money on a LaCie or Eizo. Calibration is easy with or without a tool like Eye One (i1 display 2). Good product at a great price!
