It's okay, but the image isn't as sharp as the 17" model.

Summary: It's okay, but the image isn't as sharp as the 17" model. I was hoping for the same picture quality only larger, but it just uses the same number of pixels and spreads them out over a larger surface area, so the text looks a little ragged, the colors are less intense, and the blacks are not as deep. Go with the 17" version if you have the chance. It's not worth the extra size.
Summary: The dells came packaged well protected, all worked fine. Picture is excellent with no dead pixels. The adjustable height and swivel adds convenience for all users. I always thought that dell sold a good monitor, and they seem to last forever.
Summary: This monitor is not one that you would buy if you are after a state of the art monitor that has all the latest bells and whistles, but it is an outstanding value for those that are not concerned about that issue. I bought it for my grandson and it replaced a 19" CRT monitor that he had been using, so for him it was a great new display, and for me it was a good value since the price was so low compared to anything that I oould find that was new that it was a no-brainer!
Nice monitor, but high potential for early power supply failure
11 May 2012
Summary: I have about ten of these monitors at various locations, and my clients have all been happy with the image quality. The only problem is that some of these monitors have the dreaded faulty capacitors in the power supply, and will therefore fail prematurely. If you Google "1905FP capacitors" you will see the extent of the problem. There are numerous sources for capacitor repair kits for $15, but replacing those components requires soldering equipment and skills.
Summary: Pros: Good sharpness and colour fidelity highly adjustable fair price Cons: Lack of advanced image controls minor colour problems in midtones With above-average image quality and a competitive price, the Dell 1905FP is well worth the money. The 19in. LCD retains the basic look and flexible design of its predecessors -- although the stand feels a bit sturdier -- and it offers the same height adjustment range of about 13cm.
