Excerpt: The U2412M suits my preferences: it's 1920x1200, it's LED, it's IPS. The color and clarity is wonderful. And it was a relief to see no dead/stuck pixels. I appreciate the several USB slots on the monitor(2x on the side, 2x on the back). I expect to use this monitor for a number of years; it's high quality.
Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
Summary: Love this monitor! Been using it for about 6 months now (actually have 2 of them side by side for one huge desktop). I do software development, so I work with a mix of text and graphics, general business apps, plenty of web site reading, and an occasional game. I waited forever for a decent affordable 1920x1200 monitor instead of the usual 1080 "HD" junk. This has a matte screen which I like so much better than glossy screens.
Summary: I recently purchased a Dell XPS 9100 and was using my 19 inch Dell UltraSharp monitor that came with my 2002 Dell demenions 8300 computer. I work mainly with photos, email, internet browsing, spread sheet work, and occational gaming. I wanted a to purchase a larger monitor (at least a 23") but wasnt sure which type to get (LCD vs LED). I was very happy with the performace of my 19 inch UltraSharp.
Excerpt: When I installed this monitor I was blown away with the superb picture this displayed. The larger size from my old monitor has made editing so much easier. I have not attempted to compare the display to printed photos yet nor have I tried to calibrate it. I don't expect this tobe a problem. I think it is a outstanding monitor for its price.
Pros: Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Small Footprint
Summary: One of our Dell FP2000 LCD monitors finally refused to power up last week, so much as we loved that 10 year old monitor, it was time for a replacement. We'd resisted upgrading, because upping resolution from 1600 x 1200 to most new screens' 1920 x 1080 seemed a step backwards. Only this and a very few other new screens can even match the old one's resolution vertically, so adding a bit of width didn't seem worthwhile.
Excerpt: This monitor replaced a beloved Lacie 22 Electron Blue CRT that had started to dim after so many years of service. We use it primarily for Corel Painter and Photoshop. It was easy to set up and quick to calibrate with our Xrite Colormunki. The image is SO much bigger and brighter - it's like getting a whole new color palette.
