User Review

Ted C., Newegg
19 July 2013
  • Summary: Purchased this unit from Newegg on the same day I purchased the same model from Dell. Both units are revision A00, unlike what another reviewer had mentioned about Dell selling a newer revision. Overall this looks as good as my 2008 model that is still going strong.
  • Pros: Looks nice, sharp clear screen, all the connections you could need
  • Cons: Haven't noticed any

Amazing Monitor

Eric F., Newegg
17 July 2013
  • Summary: Compared with my Samsung 2233 1920x1080 glossy, this Dell blows it out of the water. I didn't think you could get better picture quality than what I had previously. And the menu feels GREAT! Can't stand those monitors with a ton of side buttons and trying to navigate around the buggy menu.
  • Pros: White is white, black is black. Vivid "natural" colors. Very easy menu configuration. Impressively large display. Sharp crystal text. Very good deal for $260 here on NewEgg.
  • Cons: Would have liked a glossy option, but the matte is not as bad as I thought it would be.

Is it defective?

Jun M., Newegg
17 July 2013
  • Summary: I believe this is not a common issue. I also have another dell monitor, and it is solid, nothing like this one. That's why I though this might be a defective item. So bad, I realized this just after 30 days of purchase. Not a satisfying experience.
  • Pros: Good viewing angle stand is versatile
  • Cons: The upper part of the panel has a small gap to the back of the monitor. If I push the upper part very slightly, I can hear it going back and reaches a base and stops. Same thing does not happen to he lower part of the panel. The frame is not sturdy and feels cheap. When I hold the top and try to ...

Base Needs Work

Richard R., Newegg
14 July 2013
  • Pros: Ordered three for my editing workstation. Color and sharpness is good for the price range.
  • Cons: Stands are too short and too flimsy - can't raise the monitors high enough to have them at eye level - you can't even rotate the monitors without hitting the stand. Another inch elevation is and an extra pound needed to make these stands useable. In addition, one monitor arrived with a bent base....

Great Monitor

Kerry W., Newegg
9 July 2013
  • Summary: Overall though, it is a great monitor to buy.
  • Pros: Solid design. Can rotate 90 degree into portrait mode (which a lot of similarly priced monitors can't do). Light weight.
  • Cons: It is definitely not as bright as my 5-year old Westinghourse L2410NM LCD monitor. L2410NM does have a brightness of 420cd (versus 300cd). And the color does not appear as vibrant as on my old L2410NM monitor.

perfect for me!

Mark T., Newegg
7 July 2013
  • Summary: I'm not picky with the appearance of color. I use an AMD FirePro W5000 2x display port graphics card and have no complaints with stock color settings.
  • Pros: I'm an engineering student and I use two of these for light cad/cae projects, coding, report writing, etc. I love them for their excellent mechanical build quality - if anyone makes a more stable/adjustable monitor out of the box at this price I'd be impressed. Swiveling to portrait mode is conve...
  • Cons: Carelessness when converting from landscape to portrait mode results in interference that is annoying. I could also go for a bit more height adjustment - 1 more inch in height would be ideal.
