Excerpt: Just purchased this monitor to add it to a pair of other U2412M's that I've been using for almost two years. These monitors are so much better than the entry-level monitors that are sold at a lower price. Colors are accurate, but using my HUEY RGB calibration tool makes them really shine.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: I had previously purchased a similarly-spec'd monitor from a competing brand, one that is widely known for its flickering issues. Do yourself a favor and buy from a real brand. This Dell unit does not disappoint.
Pros: -Crisp picture, especially text -Matte finish is great- I can look at the monitor and not feel like I'm staring into a mirror. -DisplayPort + DVI -Tilt/swivel/height adjustable stand is great, holds exactly the position you leave it at -Power button emits a soft glow that isn't obtrusive, even in...
Cons: No HDMI, which is an interesting choice considering DVI and DP are already there.
Excerpt: Wow! Got this as a monitor for my Dell Latitude 10 tablet when at my desk at work. Feels like IMAX. Crisp... even at the highest res I don't have to enlarge the text or wear reading glasses to see the small print.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: Upgraded from a Dell U1907FP, which was an awesome monitor, but I wanted something bigger and a little brighter. So far this monitor has delivered everything I wanted.
Pros: -nice and bright -1200 instead of 1080 -24" is awesome -compatible with previous Dell UltraSharp stands -height, swivel, tilt and rotation adjustment -usb ports on the side (why doesn't every monitor have this??)
Cons: -could be cheaper -i've never noticed 8ms to be a problem but it's not the fastest out there
Summary: I bought my first U2412M in 2011 for my personal PC and just bought a second for a PC I'm building for our family room. I'm using using both right now, one in landscape and the other in portrait.
Summary: I compare this monitor side by side to my old asus vh242h panel and honestly don't see much of a difference. I honestly almost perefer the 23" screen versus the 24". Also the backlight bleeding is present. I recieved the rev00 monitor as well.
Pros: Decent monitor. High resolution 1920x1200. Can get really bright. Easy to navigate menu. Simple construction. Awesome stand (if you need one). I use an ergotron arm on mine. Overall it's just alright.
Cons: rev00. Why? For $300 I would expect this thing to be perfect and the best dell can offer.
Pros: BIG and lots of resolution/desktop space. Brightness, lots of available, Im using it at level 44/100 and its bright enough.
Cons: about the "noise" another reviewer mentioned. If I look really closely, and focus on a darker section of the screen, I can see it. My old HP LCD from 2000 did not have that. Even though its minor, they should keep getting better. I will keep this monitor, I need the resolution for side by side do...
